So i just germinated 5 seeds and all except one popped and i gave the one a very gentle squeeze and it popped open so i stuck it back in to germinate a little longer and it worked so i planted them all and it has probably been two days or so since i got them put in the dirt and they are about an inch and a half to two inches tall. i did a little growing before and my plant was said to looked stretched but this light is a lot lower and im just trying to avoid the whole stretching situation again do my plants sound right for how many days and what not?

CFL's dont get hot like HID's. Best way to figure out how close to put the light, is to put your hand between the light and your plant. If it is to hot for your hand, it's to hot for your plant. Just adjust height of light till you dont feel the heat.

Ok, so now my plants are about three inches out of the dirt and they have the two bigger leaves, and the two little jagged edged leaves. How does that sound for height?

ok so its been a few days and my plants are getting taller. one of them is just reaching for light and another is like an inch to an inch and a half behind but then i got two that are quite content on staying smaller. from what i read taller plants tend to be males do they not?

yea males do tend to grow taller because they need to be above the females to pollanate them. it's wayyyy too early though so don't freak on them yet.

about when should i know if they are possibly going to be males due to height? cuz what is going on now is the two just have their jagged edged leaves above the round first leaves, and the other ones jagged leaves are about an inch above the first round leaves and it is just getting taller. but i just fed them some sensi-grow at 300ppm sound like a good idea?

you want to keep your cfls about 1-3 inches from the plant.about the only way your plants will burn with cfls is if you let them grow into the light if you keep them 1-3 inches above you will be otay

no dont just go by height..it'll be a few weeks when it starts showing its preflowers. if you see lil balls its male. the leaves on the plants now are normal.

i think it's too early to be feeding them. i would hold off feeding for now.
