So I've been having an ongoing problem with a couple grows and cant seem to figure out what exactly is going on. Read and researched as much as I could but still just unsure on the proper action to take.
The last 2 grows have been in Sunshine mix and fed with the full line up of Advanced nutrients. I grew in soil for 2 years before giving this a go. So I'm new to both medium and nutrient line and I knew I was going to have some issues.
Both times when I've moved my plants from the veg tent to the flower tent I have what appears to be either cal/mag deficiency or light burn. This begins to happen within the first two weeks and continues to get worse as time goes on regardless of what I do. On the first grow when I checked the runoff my ph was low. Say I put in 1000 ppm at 6.3 my runoff would come out 1300ppm at 5.8.
I was told by my local grow shop my problem was the long veg time with the medium and using r/o water, and to switch to tap water and it would help stabilize my ph.
So I switched on this grow to my tap that comes out at 150ppm at a ph of 8. I always feed somewhere around 1/4 strenth 2 times weekly, always added cal/mag till mid flower PH down to 6.5 with 20% run off.
I just checked my soil ph with a meter yesterday and it's at 7. Not too sure on how accurate they are but I'm now having the same problem as before with leaf damage. It's not bad yet but trying to correct the problem early.
4 plants total
Seedlings:
-3 weeks in Dixie cups
-None/light nutes no more than 300ppm last week in cups
-PH to 6.3
Veg Tent:
-3 month veg
-2-600w kind veg LEDs on light movers
-20" from canopy under trellis netting
-Vegged in 1 to 5(plastic pots)and then15 gal(smart pot) one month before flip.
-Fed starting at 300ppm up to 900ppm
-PH to 6.5
Flower Tent
-2 ROI 680e LEDs
-2 600w kind LED full spectrum
-24" to 36" above canopy
-Fed starting at 900ppm up to 1500ppm
Enviroment:
Semi-sealed vents 2 times daily 30 min
Co2 generator currently at 500ppm(set up outside of tent)
Day temp 75
Night temp 65
Humidity 55%
So at this point Im not sure if it's a ph issue, a light issue or something I'm not seeing issue. Not sure if I should add lime or run a 50/50 mix of ro and tap to help with the buffering? Or I maybe just try coco. Either way any help would be appreciated!
