Hi, I recently reactivated my account here because I am getting excited about the prospect of marijuana becoming legal in my state at the end of summer. First off let me say i want to be a player in this "new" industry, if it happens. I already know how to grow weed, I haven't grown as much as some but more than most that's for sure. In alaska growing outdoors is not quiet a reality yet although some autos will grow if done right (maxi gom very good strain if interested). I'm not an auto fan overall though.
My plan is to assuming the initiative passes build a large greenhouse that can be heated and blacked out. This would have to happen summer of 2015. Yeah I know a long way out right? Actually I don't think so, its just right if I want to do this properly. Here is a brief overview of the plan; this fall i would build the greenhouse approximately 1000 square feet give or take, if all goes well i would add more later. Since it would be legal to grow this winter I would probably have 3 or 4 strains that I would start from seed and "get to know" over the winter. I would choose strains that I believe would perform best in the conditions I foresee my greenhouse providing them. I would clone the seedlings and flower them to see which phenotype among the seeds performs the best. Hopefully I would go into the summer of 2015 with 2 maybe 3 mothers that I like for the greenhouse. This will be my grow journal it might last almost 2 years it might die with the initiative this fall. I have never grown in a greenhouse before, if I could get some input from some greenhouse growers about issues I may encounter with a greenhouse and good strains for greenhouses that would be appreciated. Obviously I'm looking for a hardy plant with high yield and potency. (Who isn't?) lets keep height of plant in mind as well. I can build the greenhouse taller if I have to but I imagine the alaska summers in a greenhouse are going to grow large specimens of each strain. The only way I'm not going to attempt this is if legalisation doesn't pass and that is looking good. I will keep everyone informed the whole way even building the greenhouse. This should be fun.
