OK I know I'm new at the grow but I have been in and out of trouble my whole life and have always had to think ahead before something happens. Im going to make a simple list for people just starting out to be safe. First off we all know the first rule is never tell anyone but like most of use at least one person is going to know. If you do have to tell someone make damn sure you can trust that person with your life cause when and if that time come you dont want to worry about being told on. Being grower is a lot more difficult then some make it out to be and im not even talking about the growing part. Making sure you contain the sounds (fans, heaters, inc) and the smell (during flower and harvest). These two problems can be solved with out much effort. I personalty grow in a basement (not at my house) and I rapped everything in plastic (EVERYTHING) making sure there were not hole for smells to escape. For the sound problem just buy some studio foam its cheat on eBay and you don't need much to silence a few fans. Another problem is power usage. For this problem I turn on a electric heater every few hours so they cant see any kind of pattern (18 on 6 off)(12 on 12 off) at the electric company. And yet another problem is Radio frequency from your ballast (the device that powers you HPS and/or MH lights) interferes with the cable wires and box. You can get a shield or more the wires away from the room. Well this is just a little info hope it helps someone.

its good to have a healthy fear of the law but dont let it restrict you too much. there was a point when i was toooo paranoid and the grow, me, and the product suffered because of it

I remember when i was 18 or 19 living with my mom, and she used to let us grow 2-4 plants in out closets. (She didn't like it but she looked the other way, it kept me and my brother out of trouble.)
Anyways she gets up st stupid times in the night. One night she sees the 2 guys trade of cars, one stayed sitting there and that car hadn;t moved in 6 months.
Long story short she gets up at the same time for the next week and these 2 guys are still doing it. welll she thought they were watching our house.
When you have 40-70 people comingin and out each day and the smell of dope smoke lingering out of the house.
LONG STORY SHORT AGAIN
anyways they had been watching 2 big grow ops the next block over.
and we never thought anything of it. Nice neighborhood average house is 500-750k
right next to a elementary school and middle school.
SO lesson of the story is even if you think your being smart. they can luck out and catch you.
