Well, it is Sunday and i just placed my first order with Herbies. I will update this post through the process so that any other first time buyers with Herbies can see the process of ordering start to finish

Cool, I love Herbies and always order from there. Remember not to post too much information though, we don't want authorities getting wise.

I hear that, wasnt going to get too detailed. Just wanted to share my experience start to finish as I myself had many questions prior to ordering. Hopefully my experience can help another hobbiest in their quest for great genetics.

Payment: I tried using my MC, and unfortunately the payment wouldnt go through. I tried twice. Went and picked up a Green Dot Visa from Walmart and had no issues. Received confirmation email from Herbies just minutes after ordering.

Your card probably has a foreign transaction restriction on it. I've read posts about others haveing the same problem. You would need to call up your bank and have it removed.

Certain countries are " flagged" ( at least that what my bank told me on my MC ) , had to tell them I preapproved the charges, did this when I traveled to SE asia before vacation travel times

What's the advantage of using a Greendot type card vs a regular credit card? Anonymity isn't one of the features:

"Federal law requires us to obtain, verify and record your name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, and phone number when you register a Green Dot Card. If a valid social security number is not provided, a Personalized Card will not be issued."

It's easy enough to generate a fake SS# that will pass validation, but do they verify that all the info matches?

IDK, i guess the benefit is that i was actually ABLE to pay for my order!!! Other then that, i guess there was no other benefit of using it.

Also, if that is the case (valid ssn), you dont need a personalized card. Would basically be using the card to make a one time purchace like a gift card.

Since it allowed you to make your purchase and was a one time transaction, I guess that's all that matters. A disadvantage to them though is the fees they charge includeing a 3% fee for use with a merchant outside the US.

Received confirmation and delivery info the following Monday.

Were in the US on Wednesday.

Still waiting for delivery

Yay! Received my order on Saturday the 13th. Talk about quick delivery! Beans arrived and in good shape. The staelth wasnt all that stealth, but hey it worked because it nade it thru customs and wasnt even opened.

So, i placed my order on Sunday the 7th, Order was processed on the 8th, and at my house on the 13th.

I placed my order the day after you, Monday the 8th. Still waiting on delivery, last update said it departed the sort facility in Chicago on Sunday. I'm thinking it will be here Tuesday.

I have read that customs in chicago is a real M-Fer... Fortunately mine came in from NY. You should have em any day!

Not in the mail today, tracking page shows they have made it to my home state but not my home town yet. Maybe Wednesday.

The anticipation sucks! I really believe it was customs in Chicago that held you up. Hopefully 2moro... Good Luck

I ordered from Herbies on the 12th last Friday...Shipped that same Friday because of time difference Australia Friday comes first. By Sunday they were in the country! Now I just hope they get through customs....
