Im going to be using coco can I use a standard soil PH tester or is there a special one I need to get

Get a cheap electronic liquid PH tester. Use it to test the initial run off of your coco to get an accurate picture of your PH.

Also remember to buy the calibration solutions, 4.01 and 7.01. The meter can actually hurt your grow if you don't check its calibration from time to time. I check min every two weeks, and they do need adjusting with use and as the batteries age.
