lol... you take your ph tester, and dip it into the "calibration liquid" maybe its 7.0..maybe 5.0..doesnt matter.. What does is that you calibrate it right so it reads what the cal liquid does.

Then u dip it n water and it'll read for ya

MAKE SURE that the pen comes with something....Because they could sell you a pen...without the cal liquid. and make you waste time waiting for that.

I ph pen is useless unless calibrated.

Good Luck buddy

if you get a pen without cal liquid.. get a few ph strips, make up some liquid, and use that to calibrate.

you should order some calibration liquid anyway. Calibrate your pen frequently. The stuff they send might not be enough. I hear order the 5 and the 7.1 stuff and cali with both. Make sure it reads to a 10th also. Like 5.8 or 4.9, not just 6 or 5. I hope that helps.

i got a vitalsine pen one off ebay for 15 bucks that you calibrate. it was easy to do, cheap, and works well. look on ebay before you spend that much man.

If taken care of, and stored properly, you can get 2 years out of the sensor. You did get one with a replaceable probe, yes?
