Pest Control?

What is an effective pest control measure that wont harm the sweet goodness of my dark mother? A friend told me to use tobacco water but I am afraid.

avid. kills everything. its illegal in cali but it works better than anything. the pests dont come back. they say it causes cancer so your only supposed to spray in veg. which I did and was pest free all through the crop
