Sand's on the drawing board [Zero Emission] car ...['drawing board'-term used loosely]

So, I would like to share my idea with you….to cure our dependence on oil...
I have had a few VW flat opposed 4 cy in my day…
And so thinking of a small low compression engine and for now manual transmission…

I Bring to you Sand's Air powered car. “The short overview”…
We engineer the main “air tank” for our vehicle to hold 30 miles of air without a charge… 30 miles? Wait, there’s more….
Our vehicle has a small gas powered compressor, for catastrophic failures as a back up….it would also have a small 110 vac plug in compressor, for at home use…
Each wheel has a rotary compressor which fills secondary tanks from each wheel, as you motor down the street……
The brakes, will be the reverse of the wheel compressor, when the brake ped is applied…
The Air Management System [AMS], which is the ‘fuel’ injector, and spark plug rolled into one…As piston nears TDC the engine would be similar to that of an old school VW…The computer in the AMS would fire a high compressed “Shot” of air to drive the piston back down…you would use ultra friction fighting thin oils to keep friction to minimum…The “Four” stroke would then exhaust 80-90 % of compressed air back into a recovery tank, to be compressed further, for re-use, and re-cycle our Air Fuel…back up brake system/Emergency brake would be closing check valve at exhaust…I think we could get the recovery rate to 80% [on the open road] so if you drove 30 miles, you would pump back into air tank 24 more miles worth of air...the faster you drive, the further you can go, I would shoot for 25% recovery in stop and go traffic...
Our car would have carbon fiber [and other ultra high strength and low weight materials] parts where ever we could save weight….
The car would have a 12 vdc electric system using wheel air recovery to charge it, and keep it going as you drive around…
The radio comes programmed with the hot rod noise of your choice, and two 85 db speakers in the rear wheel wells, “Fast take off from light sound” will be at a push button… for car will be silent otherwise….

Thanks for reading... Have a Great Day !! Carry On...

Here's mine - you put a rotating magnet under the heating element of a stove top. Then - you put a small plastic covered magnet piece of metal in a cooking pot. Now rotate the magnetic field under the heating element which in-turn spins the metal piece in the pot. And now - you know longer have to stir the soup, or gravy, or whatever else you're cooking. That gives you back your two hands so you can roll a joint while waiting for supper to be ready.

The air-car is an old idea, actually. I believe there was a French inventor who recently tried to revive it.

As for the magnetic stove-top stirrer, heat will wreck an elemental magnet's ability to generate flux, IIRC. That may need some "special" engineering. Although, now that I think about it, one could use an electro-magnetic, like the labs. Yes, that may work, but is it practical? Not really... most people seem to be content with using these strange devices called "spoons" which look like miniature boat oars.

Leave it to Anthony Sullivan to beat us to the punch....damnit!!!!
Now how does that device work? Is it using inertia or....?

That's OK, keep inventing. I do that. But, you need to look it up and see if someone beat you to it and/or can you compete.

BTW, an idea is not an invention. An invention is real and we can touch it or manipulate it in some way. Most ideas never even become prototypes, much less inventions. If you have a real idea that no one has thought of, you need to write it into your engineering note book, date and sign it. That is the last word in patent law.

Tata has an air powered car, and now Citroen has a hybrid like you are talking about. http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-57436639-48/tata-commercializing-an-air-powered-car/

Yea, its one of those moments when you are watching tv and a commercial comes on for it and you're like, seriously, that is so simple. dammit, i could have made millions.
