I've germinated about 8 seeds. I have them in peat pots right now ready to grow on a window sil. Have you guys ever had any experience with starting in these?

Hello Dr.

Sounds ggod.. When the roots come out the bottom of the peat pots you will want to transplant the babies.. 1-3 gallons

Unless you live in the southern hemesphere you will need suplemental lighting... new plants need 18+ hours of light for their vegetative cycle..

If the plants are not getting adequate - direct light (which most windows do not provide) for 18+ hours the baby plants will STRETCH... yikes

and NOW you KNOWM

I agree with GK.....
Jiffy pellets work ok, but can dry out quickly and they don't give the tap root much room...transplant soon, and when you transplant, I would advise burying the stem that's coming out of the pellet almost up to the cotyledons when you transplant...this will help minimize any spindly or thin, stretched stems..
good luck!
