PC Stealth box-is it possible?

i was thinking about making a stealth PC grow box but i wasnt sure if it is literally poissble to grow in one since it is so small. i was wondering if you would use this box from grow to finish or if you would use it from seeds to veg. state or what?

and if someone had used one before what is the average yeild you would be able to get out of 1 plant in it?

wide pot not deep, empty the case, light from all sides, lst , top, fim, small personal grow, better to seed to veg in pc then flower in wardrobe.

I actually just finished construction on my pc grow box earlier today. I put my seedling in and realized that it is wayyy too small for any real growth. I'm planning on building something bigger by the time it out grows it. At least I have a nice place to get seeds started.

yeah thats what i was thinking...it would be a perfect place to have your seeds start and do your veg. state in and then have something a little bit bigger to flower in! that way you could grow plants at a faster rate!

any one else have any advice? ideas?

i did a pc grow a few months ago, just had to try a micro grow
did not go well for the most part, i was going to try a lst/flower
ended up being a good clone chamber
others seem to have fared better than i did, but you're talking modest rewards
some use larger server cases, those may be more worthwhile, guess it depends on your setting if a large server would look out of place

Yeh not really my cuppa tea, seen lots of them on RIU with various degrees of success but the quantity of harvest doesn't really make up for the effort put in to growing them I would much rather go to a dodgy dealer and pay 40 quid for a decent Q hell of a lot less hassle in my opinion. Better off doing something a little bigger and making it worth your while.

ok i think i like the idea of using it as a seed to about a week of vegitation then transport it to another place for floweringg....anyone know what kind of light i can get that would be just enough for seeds ad the veg state only? but not only thats cheap now but will be cheap to pay for on the electricity bill since i will be having two sets of lights in 2 places. i have a feeling it will all add up fast if i dont keep an eye on it! i heard you can go with your energy saver bulbs at low wattage?

I built one as well. I actually flowered a W. Widow in it, though a very small plant. Now, I use it only for rooting clones. With space constraints in my primary grow cab, it's nice to have a stealthy place for another six ladies. If I did it again, I'd try and find the fattest, tallest case I could find. I'm using 3 cfl's in my computer case that are just plugged into a power strip. Seems to be working fine so far.

Lol.. Well have you seen the space inside empty PC housing ? it's freakin tiny.. so you are gonna get a tiny harvest (an oz max) really.. unless you have teched it up to the max..and grow a short autoflowering strain like Lowryder... if you can't do that I would go with what BU5T4 said.. or weld 4 PC's together

You could use the space to grow, an it would b very stealth, but if u have some-where with more space you'd get better results. But if a pc is your only possible path to grow , your not gonna get more than 1 plant in it, maybe 2 but very small. There's plenty of grows like this, just check out the grow journal section and soak up sum info.

It is possible. People have done it. There are photos of successful PC grows on here, and videos of very nice harvests on Youtube.

The average yield: This depends on how much light you use and what kind of nutrients you use.

You would need to get one of the bigger PC cases though. And Low Rider is the best strain for PC grows.

I did a title search for "PC Case" and got 145 results. Many of which are full journals that are finished with great results.

At least try a couple searches before you ask. If you actually read through the threads involving PC Case grows, it will prevent you from having to ask the same questions every noobie grower asks.

It is possible? Yes
Is it easy? No
Will I get fat nugs? No
Will I get lots of bud? No
What strain should I use? Anything autoflower or go 12/12 from seed
What pots? 3L soda bottle on its side will grow 1-2 plants.
How much will I get? 4-15g dry per plant, depends on WAY too many variables.
What kind of light? CFLs, highest wattage that will fit, max 100w (not 100w equivalent)


Hopefully that will keep a few of the same old questions from being asked.

The only real advantage to doing a PC case grow (besides bragging rights for actually keeping a plant alive in one) is that PCs kinda hum and make noise. now if you lightproof the thing 100% (which is VERY fuckin hard and time consuming) then it will just look and sound like a PC.

Problem is that you have to LST the hell out of the plants, or use a screen and everything has to be done just right. For all the work, money and time put into it, you could have built a cab with a larger light to grow a few more plants. Or do what I did ant gut a mini fridge. Growing 1 plant is just as bad as 49 in most anti-pot states.

Anyone who is under the assumption that they can grow a plant in a PC case in order to hide it from their parents/roommates/wife etc. are sadly mistaken. Even if you are very careful and dont get caught lugging soil bags home, and watering, and hiding your nutes, pots, lights, etc. then the stink will still get you. You can have the best carbon filter and ozone generator money can buy, and the smell will still get out at times. Such as, every time you open the case to water, peek, prune, adjust.

So if you wanna grow bud in a small space, use a PC if you must. Just keep in mind most people getting good results from PC grows have a few grows under their belts to begin with. Using something twice the size of a PC will give you ten times the opportunity. Besides, who wants to put all that time and effort to MAYBE get an ounce of bud? I just put in the same amount of time on my closet grow and will walk away with about 8oz. Got 4.65oz out of my mini fridge grow. If the setups were dialed in I could have pulled twice as much out of each grow.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, yeah for the low low price of $399 = $1200 bucks?!?!?! What a joke! $75 worth of parts for $399, or $100 worth of parts for $1200 hmmm which should I choose??? Man people actually buy this crap?? And you are actually telling people to "sell their first crop" to pay for it?? How is a crop of legal plants going to pay for a $400 minimum computer? I mean, you are selling these for LEGAL reasons yes?? Kinda sounds like a piggie to me. I bet they put your address on a list, like I said it doesnt matter if its 1 plant or 49, they will throw your ass in JAIL!!
