Pc fans

hey buddys!

I need some help because i dont know how can I do the electrical wirings on a pc fan... How can i put them work without the pc??

go to walmart and get a plug and a wire. you can find what you are looking for in the lighting section. they make it so that people can repair lamps and such. get the right size wire connectors and connect the pc fan wires to the fix-a-lamp wires. after putting on connectors, put electrical tape around it so that moisture will not get on the connections. if you need any help ask the people in the lighting or home inprovement section to get you the right stuff. all in all, you should only have like $7-9 USD wrapped up in it. remember to popst pics of what you are doing so that other people can learn from your experiences. someone out there is asking the same question as you.

I haven't done it myself yet, but I've been reading up on just that, because I'm going to wire a pc fan soon to my little grow cabinet that I'm in the process of building.

I found out that most pc fans come with 3 or 4 wires. You're only interested in the red and black wire. You take a spare DC adaptor lying around the house, like from a cell phone charger that's around 12 volts, and you just connect the 2 wires (red and black) from the PC fan to that. You would splice the wire and connect them. Maybe tape over the connection with electrical tape. You can also get one from a place like radio shack if you don't already have the DC adaptor wall wart. Most people have a few spares laying around some place I think.

At newegg, they sell 10 cheap pc fans for 10 bucks. Check out the CFL rating. The higher the CFL rating, the more air the fan pushes. Also, check out the DB rating, if you're interested in the noise issue. The higher the DB, the more noise the fan will make. So basically, you want a fan with a decent CFL rating and low DB rating, if good airflow and noise concerns you.

or you could just get a psu from a pc too. The little white clips that plug into the components could be cut off and then wired each one up to the fans, that way you could run as many fans as you like but only use one power supply and all the wires would be colour coded

Tomorrow I will transform my little closet in a growroom with:
-4 18w strip lights like kitchen lights
-2 cfl lamps 25w
-1 hps 400w
-3 small pc fans 29.07cfm +/- 10% air flow
-1 biggest pc fan with high air flow
-1 oscilation fan
-reflective foil mylar

I want to have 2 white widows and 1 ice so I will plant:
-4 white widow (white label)
-2 ice (Nirvana)
-1 little imature bagseed I found, just for fun

The weed is just for me, I dont smoke everyday but I want good stuff...
This is a good growroom?

as he said.. screw the bs. use a power supply from a pc.. you can hook all the fans up to 1 thing....look at pics, kind of ghetto but it works.

I can see using a pc power supply if you're running a whole bunch of fans, but won't that add like 300-600 (depending on the power supply) watts 24-7 to the whole set up ? It sounds pricey, and I prefer to keep the electric bill down. Maybe use some more watts on lighting instead. Is my thinking wrong ?

the comp is not running, only the fans

so you dont pay for the pc power supply energy?
