pc fan + carbon filter

what's the minimum airflow needed for a carbon filter to work effectively? (i would imagine air has to be 'pushed' through it)
would it work if you attached a typical 100mm carbon filter to a fan that does 35-40 cfm? (62m3/hour by my calculations)

i use a 435cfl but it pulls through my cool tube first i would say more cfm.IMO

I run a DIY setup where I have 2 carbon pre-filters in a plastic storage tot with 2 34 cfm pc fans venting my box throught the filters and it works great but for astore bought filter I would go with a higher cfm rating.

DIY what does that mean? and your growing in storage tots? sorry to get off the subject.
