Passive drip mother system, potential idea

i had this idea the other day about a system to keep mothers that would potentially produce much more cutting than soil mothers, be much easier to maintain roots in the long run and involve minimal maintenance as far as hydro is concerned and before i spent the money i would like to see if it is plausible. In essence its just a drip irrigation system, gravity fed so completely passive no electricity used, what i would like to know is if i could use hydroton as a medium or would it dry to quickly? btw sorry i am no artist

i figure it would be better than dwc because res temp wouldn't affect it nearly as much so ph and ppm would be the only concern and once the res empties refill with the catch can top with water a couple times and bring up ppm as necessary and flush every couple weeks, also the reason for two lines per site to the inline drippers is in case one clogs, im a firm believer in having a backup. any ideas? and is this possibly a pipe dream :eyesmoke: lol and i know i spelt folgers wrong
