I wouldnt be concerned. He'd have to go out of his way to get you in trouble, and from the sounds of it... you didnt give him any reason to believe you were growing weed... Even if he reported it, the police would have no right to search your place. No probable cause = no warrant.

If a cop knocks on my door, i dont even let him in the house. Less chance of him seeing something in 'plain sight.' Step outside to talk to a police officer, never invite him in. The best thing you can do to protect yourself is to KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. Cops will take advantage if you dont know them, which could end up with you being busted.
