Paperclips good or bad?

Hello boys, I'm about 4 weeks into growing my Big Blue's and I've already FIM'd them. I have been doing alot of research on trying to keep the plants low and bushy because my grow box is not very big.

These pics are from 6 days ago

I'm trying some basic LST by using paperclips to tuck the large top fan leaves closer to the stem to allow more light to the small bud sites such as these

I unfortunately didn't take any pics of my paperclip tucking but is what I'm attempting a good idea or not? I'm trying for a even canopy of bud sites something you would see in a SOG grow. Thanks!

That whole idea that you should cut or move fan leaves is complete bull. Those fan leaves are like the big solar panels powering the plants growth, leave them alone and let them get first light. The truth is each leaf only blocks 15% of the light, so any buds underneath still get 85% of the light but what really needs light the most is all the leaves.

Are you flowering them at this size in the pictures?

HI,
My plants after a couple to a few weeks of age in LST. You may be just tying down the fan leaves instead of main stem, but paperclips should be fine for either.

Pic #1 is Haze x Skunk #1
Pic #2 is northern lights

Maybe you should let the get a lil bigger seems like the best thing to do. Then if you would like to do a lil lst then it would be fine let the fim you did get going real good. I tried it for the first time this year very very cool if you never did it before. Good luck will be watching

Thanks for the tips everyone, I'm still vegging them right now, maybe 6 weeks more of vegetative growth before flowering. Maybe I'll LST just the stem instead of the fan leafs. I'll post pics when I do the final adjustments.
