Dense hard nugs have nothin to do with strain, but everything to do with how it's grown. Any strain could be a couchlock high, if it is in flower for longer then recommended, dried and cured properly takes place as well.
To answer you're question, yes. That's how papaya was when I grew it.

nirvana offers "Ice" or "Crystal" much better than the papaya trust me, much better yield potential.

Very true. If you were thinking about changing strains I would recommend the Crystal, unless you're growing hydro, then I'd recommend the Ice.

P.S. If you feel like waiting a bit, Nirvana has there December deal every year. With every purchase in December you get a bag of 10 seeds at random. If this is you're first grow, I would wait intill December, buy what you want an then practice growin with the bag seed. Just my 2 pennies

i just culled my papaya from my grow after the third run. just not a good producers and very touchy with nutes. she just didnt get along with the other girls.

You see I wouldn't do that. Just because of the "stealth shipping" you have to pay for. If you're order with Nirvana doesn't get to you, they'll send em again free of charge, AND with extra seeds

Nirvana have bad reps and take weeks to deliver.
Sea of seeds give you 5+ freebies, cheaper prices and if they walk they replace them. PLus they have much better seeds at a better price.
To the op.
Try a mazari hybrid for a couchlock Seedsman and OO seeds sell these or Anesthesia from Sannies.
Anything but watered down seeds that are not what you expect and grown a tad better than comercial .
Spend on the originals or from a better company.
Ive grown many Nirvana, Papaya was one of the better ones they have to.

To each there own. I'd rather not get freebies, like points for everything you buy. There giving away 500 points right now for a survey, that's 10$ right there!!
Nirvana has bad rep from people who don't like them, they don't like them...? Who knows, but it only took 8 days to get to my mailbox, it depends on where you are? Not to mention weekend whoppers, holiday gifts, nutes, and if you're cool enough and actually talk to the people who work there, they hook you up. There coming out with new auto strains this December. God I can't wait!!!

been using the attitude and SoS and i give it to SoS, they got it on lock. alot of great genetics in stock, rare breeders and newer breeders like Breeders Boutique and devil's harvest. nirvana seeds are cheap, i got the bubblelicious not too long ago from SoS.

You cant breed with Nirvana. You can hack and let people believe you have good genetics. But when their put next to original or far superiour genetics you will get laughed at for calling yourself a "Breeder"...
Do yourself a big favoour and buy true genetics not knock offs.

I can't breed? Really? I had no idea that I couldn't pollinate a female and breed seeds that came from Nirvana, thanks for the heads up!!
And from my experience, every strain on Nirvana IS what's up, I don't care if there not the original, I already knew that, doesn't mean the bud isn't good. Anyone who has grown the white rhino and NYPD from Nirvana would laugh at you for saying the genetics are wrong. LOL!

Here are two different papaya i've got growing right now. Both of them are way behind the rest of my plants as far as harvest time is concerned. The one on the left is the only plant of my nine flowering females that had it's leaves burn up and die off like that. Not sure what it's deal was but it smells very fruity and nice now. The tall one on the left is 50 percent taller than anything else in my garden. It just shot up after I flipped the lights really unexpected. It is all leaf and very little bud though, few crystals and no scent. The one on the left is the better pheno in my opinion even though it is much smaller and had some kind of sensitivity somewhere along the way.

While things like light proximity and intensity definitely affect how dense buds are, genetics absolutely DO have an impact on the outcome. I would recommend a strain with Critical in it for big, dense nugs.
