Panasonic Whisper Line Fans... Better than Vortex?

Has anybody used the Panasonic WhisperLine series of inline fans?

I use a 6" Vortex for my 4x4x7 room intake but it is pretty loud. I want to add an exhaust fan but but two Vortex inlines will be louder than what I want.

I am thinking of ditching the 6" Vortex and getting two of the Panasonic WhisperLines, one for intake and one for exhaust. The WhisperLine fans were highly recommended to me by a skilled grower but I can't find a store to give me a demo. I'm hoping there is somebody who can tell me how they perform or if there are any near silent fans out there

On the link you gave it has the technical specs sheet right next to the overview. It gives the noise level in "sones" (1.4) which I found rather confusing as I'm used to working in dB. After a quick look on wiki apparently normal talking, 1 m distant is between 1-4 sones which that seems pretty loud to me. Another thing to keep in mind is this machine weights 17lb!

If you find a good silent fan then could you post the link to me, I'm also on the lookout for one. Happy growing!

As someone who lived in So.Humboldt for over 15 years and was involved in all aspects of rooms, and now I work for a company who specializes in of all things, exhaust fans. (since 1938). 1.2 sones is the quietest you will get for an inline fan with that cfm. Panasonic is the top of the line when it comes to quiet. although personally, being made in China, I wouldn't buy them, but they are the quietest on the market
