Over 2lbs from 400w in normal time frame, need a test pilot.

I need someone who can do this full size. Nobody I know can grow this number of plants because of our medical legal restrictions.

Please consider if you will...

400w HPS
4x4 table...

holds 144 4" rockwool cubes
7 grams dried is EZ with any strain from a zero veg clone with no transplant.
So we take 144 x 7 we get 1008
144 cuts Producing 7 grams dried
is 1008 grams per 8 weeks
that is 36 ozs
2.25LBs and 2.34 grams per watt

10 grams per cut ...
1440 / 430 = 3.34 GPW

Cut and pasted mostly, not my calculations I'm too lazy to put that all together just like most are probably too lazy to do 144 cuttings.

Yes we all know how crowded those will be, but you only need a tiny yield from each and on a small scale this is proven to work already.

This is proven already??? Was there pics where you got this information? I'm intrigued. Wouldn't the buds be all fluffy though? I'm not too sure of this method but if anyone could provide pics I may give it a go.

I got the idea from a theoretical post some time ago by a master grower Dr BudGreengenes, a guy I always refer people to on ICMAG.

I have tried it with a mere 12 cuttings off to the side of my normal ladies, with the sides of the plants crammed in and blocked from light as if they were crowded mid table and it worked. And that was already breaking the law for me.

The plan came from this thread, he knows about little plants in large numbers... Yep that link again: But this time it's filtered just to show only his posts and not everyone elses yacking.

The max for a sog is 4 plants per square foot. So in a 4 x 4 space you should only squeeze in 64.

Also a 400 watt light is not good enough for a 4 x 4 space (27 watt per square foot), its better suited for a 3 x 3 (49 watt per square foot)

You could have two 3 x 3 trays under 2 400 watters and stagger the harvest getting about a pound a month.

The max number of plants for a 3 x 3 is 36

Another option for lighting would be to use a cooltubed 1000 to cover both 3 x 3 trays.

Your not going to try because it would be breaking the law? LOL 90% of the people here are already breaking the law anyway.

sorry, can't help ya there, just got my soon to be SOG going, almost ready
i'm aiming for round the same thing, but my 400w is for the moms,
aiming for 120 plants in a 5'x8', 60 in/out every 3 weeks, (1st 20 potz in already next 20 potz near mid january), but under 2x600w HPS in light pipes,
3 plants per pot in soil, aiming for 3+ Lbs per 60 plants....
so the smaller better theiry claims and i shall endevor to make happen....
will be changing over to aerophonics next year to increase the yeild more....

I take leeway with the laws and do push it let me be honest, but I can't lay this out too. I really do enjoy being mostly worry free.

Don't always go by the rule of thumb, that refers to how thick of a stick you can beat your wife with...

Anyway it will only hold you back from learning new things, sometimes a spare light and don't give a shit if it really works attitude is a good thing.

Just for the record the buds were not really that tight in my tiny experiment, you are right about that, but somehow they end up tight once stuck in a bowl. This is dry weight just the same, so I don't know if you'd rather have a pound of hard nugs or two of less or change it up a litle but I'd like to see it done as proposed if possible.

Lastly if four plants per square foot were truly a real limit, then the link I gave above with proof that more does work must all be made up or something, that's one very large joke I guess.

50 watts per square foot is about what you wanna shoot for. Thats how you get nice dense nugs.

At about 70 watts per square foot you reach the point of diminishing returns.

Yea we all know that, doesn't mean it doesn't work. We are far outside conventional wisdom here going for maximum GPW not the hardest nugs. Throw max lumens and the plan would fall apart anyway, with the spacing it would all just go completely to hell.

you've got me thinking about this now. So you guys say 400 isn't enough for a 4x4 area. Ok. I will use a 3x3 area, with 4' pots 9 x 9, I will use soil in tall pringle pots with holes made in the bottle for drainage. More room for roots therefore more growth. Thats 81 pots total. I will aim for minimum 10 grms per plant under a 400 watt, Nothing to say you cant add cfls if needed, 12/12 from clone/seed. Thats 810 grms, 28 ounces or 1.75 pounds. My first grow I harversted an ounce a plant from 4 white widows 12/12 from seed under a 250 watt hps.

I think this is quite possible and am willing to try this out in the new year, feminised white widow seeds are quite cheap in the headshop, I am going to take this into serious consideration.

that sucks,,,,,those two seed companies wont deliver to the U.S.:wall:
Could anyone recommend a good strain for this kind of operation. I was thinking maybe ppp or the church.

I'm willing to take this on in the new year. Starting Wednesday 7th of january.

Or maybe these seeds:http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/g13-labs-gigabud-feminized-4833-p.asp

Allegedly have a 5-6 week flowering time, may be ideal.

you gotta watch the See More Buds Vol1 to get an idea of quantity of plants to end buds, check it out, they triple the lights but have massive mounts of plants, all 4'x6' rooms..

the first room they show is 100 plants, 4x600w lights in aerophonic system, total of 4.6 Lbs.... those are the refrences i'm going by for mine...
