Outdoor question

One of my patients is growing outdoors anyone know about when I should drop by to check the sex? He isn't much help and a ways out in the boonies my experience is ALL indoors so thanks to the outdoor experts.

I would think if they were put out in mid May/early June, one would be able to tell by now. But then again, it's been since the early 80's that I've known about such.

pretty sure he got them in late they are only 3-4' and I've not seen anyone real proud of a plant that size outdoors.

It depends on strain but, I would think they would be showing at 3-4'

Most Indica and Indica dom hybrids will reveal preflowers beginning around the 14 th internode inside our outside . Sativas can vary but still they can be sexed around the time they begin to alternate node development ., its simple once you have learnt to distinguish a premature calyx verses a male flower in the early stage . This is an age old tradition that is performed in India early into a crop .

Should be easy this time of year to decipher what is what , but then again a cut in water with 12/12 might be all that is needed to confirm .

look for the little ""fine-fine"" hair next to the node/stalk....

......if it looks like the fine fine hairs on a redhead below her waist then your golden!
they will sometimes be crossed....not to be confused with curly pubic hair

they should be showing if their 3-4' tall-

google plant sexing and see some pics ...i dont know how to post pics

if your friend had them inside first and then put them out they may not be acclamated to the light
....what was the cycle he had them on before he put them out??
--or they been out all season? (some folks veg inside for height and thro them out at the last few weeks for flower)

did he plant them that tall or were they small and grew that high?....if so they should be showing somthing-

sex your plants under a garbage can before you plant them.....put them under a can for 12/12 and they will show sex within 21 days from seed

i have seen cuts\clones flower/hermi many times outside from different stress induced by the enviornment ...light ...shade...clouds...
even larger plants outdoors with lots of bottom shade can spit a seed(s1)

just think fine hairs....any 'balls' terminate with extreme prejudice --

if they still seem like they are not showing ....thro a tarp over them for 12 hrs of light only....give it 7-10days (?).....they will show

if not watch them closely and dont let those pollen(balsac) open and spread their goodness


make sure to look at each one from top to bottom..........they may have hairs on top and balls where you cant see them ....examine each node branch carefully next to the main stalk-


any half hair\half balls pull them out and put them on 6&woodward--(hermi)

6th & woodward you say? Shit, I knew it was to good to be true.

Mine generally will start to show sex the first or second week of August. The males will show early, so you should have plenty of time to give them a violent death before any pollen is released.

Agreed motorbuds, first 2 weeks of August n all will be showing. 3-4' tall now is pretty decent ..could still pull 10 zips a plant if they finish in mid to late October.

I have good guesses as to what they are from the indicators professor listed I thought by now it'd be obvious. corso, that's exactly what I was hoping for, a little more time.
I took some cuts and put them in quarantine in case he gets something crazy good and to sex them indoors but I take 2-3 weeks to root so it won't help much since they will show sex outdoors before I can root and cut and transplant and flower. thanks guys.

I love growing outties, the growth is tremendous under the sun. I got a couple ak47 clones from a buddy.. thanks h.p. these things are ridiculous ...out em out in late June to keep em small n topped em twice..they are 4-5' bushes with largest fan leaves I ever seen.

What strains Cory? I got a few blackberry kush that I was told are very fast...hoping to have em done by first week of October. The only thing that sucks about outties is most finish around Halloween when hunters n thieves are all over.
