Outdoor Plant (My First) Showing Deficiency?

My plant has been pretty healthy (bugs have been a problem, but its kept high spirits) until recently, It began flowering about 2.5-3 weeks ago and has recently shown some yellowing and dying of the leaves and purpling of the stems.

I use a soil that contains mulch and nutrients for tomatoes. During the veg months I used a liquid fertilizer mix high in nitrogen, and recently I have switched to a well rounded fert for flowering that contains high amounts of phosphorous, nitrogen, and has smaller ammounts of zinc, magnesium, potassium, and something else..

I may not be giving it enough fertilizer?

It sits in the texas heat which is around 105 degrees lately with high humidity. I water the plant daily, as of late I've been giving it almost 3/4 gallon of water a day. This water is mostly tap water, every now and then I let my water sit out for a while, but I honestly havent made a regimen on it. I also only use my fertilizer once a week.

Is this perhaps my problem?

think you need a fertlizer that is low in nitrogen and high in phosphorous and potassium

use ferts every other watering. This looks normal to me, during flowering leaves tend to turn yellow from bottom to top. If this expands too quickly, try puttin some iron based nutes with your regular flowering nutes the next time you water your babies.

It's going to rain tonight so i'll start a new regimen after the rain.

Also, I understand I should be starving the plant prior to harvest, how many days before harvest should I avoid feeding ferts to the girl?

flush, or starve as you put it, every couple of days for a week or two

you need to stop giving ur plants nutrients atleast a week prior to harvest. 2 would be best bet but 1 week will work fine. get some ph testing strips and check the ph of ur tap water. it might be off. if not then thats all u need for the last two weeks just some good ol regular water

its very very simple, go to walmart walk to the section where they keep the pool chemicals look for testing strips. the strips will have like five different colored square tablets that test for chlorine total hardness ph and other things. fill up ur jug dip a strip in and swirl it around a couple times then look at the indicator that comes on box or package of strips
