OUTDOOR growing INDOOR

Hello friends,

I had 3 outdoor seeds and i put them on growing indoor 1 mounth ago. This is problem nr 1.

I had given them light 24/24, problem nr2.

I help them so i think to grow and not to swing aside...i tied them from a support (see pictures)

I think the stem is too thin because of that and if i remove the support from the bigger plant it will fall aside :(

i will not throw the plants, i will grow them untill they are good to smoke

I need some advices for the future to repair my mistakes..

Get a fan in there ASAP and get the light closer. Also think about getting more light in there. They are stretching for what little light you have.

Also if I were you, I would transplant those into another pot deep enough to cover most of the long stems so your plants arent so lanky

I have a fan (pc fan) and the light it's a 100w (1700 lumens)

I think if i get the light closer they will get burned because it's a normal light (incadescent)

You tell me to cover the extra tulip with earh...you sure it's that ok ? because i hope so:lol: on the extra tulip cover up with dirt will grow roots?

BTW: i will buy a high presure sodim (75-100w) & will change the vent to after i get the money

That's your main problem, you need cfl's regular bulbs will not work for growing, a 100w cfl puts off much more light and less heat so you can put it closer. Get cool cfl's home depot for 5 bucks. Yes it should be fine to cover up the extra stem because roots will fill up that area anyway (they'll grow where theres room). not really sure if that part of the stem will grow roots though, good question.

yes bury that deep in dirt. the rule with lighting is keep the light as close as you can. put your hand right above the plant and move the light as close as you can without burning your hand. if it is to hot for you it is to hot for the plant. Also you need more light. much more light, and the right kind of light. a regular incandescent bulb is likely wasting most of its light in a spectrum that the plant cant utilize. get some cfls, they are relatively inexpensive and you can put them within inches of your plant and not worry about burning them. For veg use lights around 2700k and for flower use 6700k.

What bout the light ? And the Temperature too.

I give them light 24h a day and they are outdoor seeds.

The plants adapts and can feed with light non stop or they have to make the regeneration cicle (day-night) as they parrents ?

I am affraid now to cut the light off because they don't know what dark it is and i don't want to make another mistake.

This is my priorital question now...

Q: what is CFLS ? and 6700k (k=what?) kilowats?

this is a cfl. you can get them almost anywhere light bulbs are sold. the 6700k refers to the color temperature. you can find them online as well. as for the dark period, they will adapt fine to adding a dark period and they will stretch less. good luck.

Dont even worry about the outdoor part dude, it just means they do better outdoors, not necessarily that they need to be grown outdoors. I would bring it down to 20 hours on and 4 hours off at least, it won't do any harm.

2day i will make some money and go to buy a CFLS light and in 1 week high presure sodium :bigjoint:

Tonight i will turn off the lights for 4-5 h and i hope this is good trick for the plant

Nice! A HPS should help you out a lot! Try to get a timer on the light (you can get them at any hardware store for 10-15 bucks) because you want the time that the light stays off to be the same until you flower. If you do it manually it could screw with them and make them hermi! If you can't afford a timer just leave it on 24 hrs because that would be better. Some people use 24hr with great success, I just like to give em some rest, at night.

Put a rotating fan in there to make a wind storm like outside to beef up those stalks. and get yourself 6500K cfls for vegging and 3000k and 2700 for flowering. Get as many as you can and good rule of thumb is if its to hot for the back of your hand its to hot for the plant. And get some nutes for that skinny thing lol fox farm does well for me but there are cheaper nutes on the market.

I found some HPS @
70W - 2.000k - 6.000Lm

100W - 2.000k - 9.000Lm

150W - 2.000k - 15.000 Lm

High Pressure Mercury @

80W - 4.200k - 4.000 Lm

125W - 4.200k - 6.200 Lm

Mixed Light @

100W - 3.300k - 1.100 Lm

The 6500k i can;t find a proper one and i know that HPS is good from vegging untill flowering.

So for them i was thinking to buy an HPS @ 100W (please tell me if i need more or if that it's ok) , and for the 4200k a HPM @ 80W or 125W and whith those lights to go untill flowering.

The CFL light is the economical light no ? they cosume (ex) 15w and give a 75w light. It's that righ? the curious thing: a hps 100w it's 15e and the CFL 20-30W it's bout the same amount and i think the hps it;s a better choise.

DO what they say. Re-pot the plant deep so only the leaves are above the soil. Make sure your using good potting soil, something light. Get that CFL ASAP and get it close to the plant. You'll see an immense difference. Don't over-water early on.

HPS is good for flowering and will do just fine for your veg, Just buy a couple clip-on lamps and add a couple blue spectrum cfl's (you can tell because theyll look blue, and the hps will look orangish yellow.) under it. I would get the 150w since that is already very smal, you dont wanna go any smaller. Do those come with ballasts?

No...it dosen't come with a ballast...fuck now i saw it...all the HPS need a ballast?....Now i must search a store where i can find a balast for that :(

Cool...i found it :D Balast + ignition sistem + hps = 35-40 e

I have buyed 2 CFL (32w cold and 23W warm white)

In the photo is the space between plants and light. is's ok ?

Tomorow i'll buy the nutrients.

BWT: this is my grow room :bigjoint:

LE: I had made some modifications:

The bigger plant is 6cm under the 23w (warm) lighter and the smaller plant is 9cm under the 32w (cold) lighter

I will cover all the grow room with aluminum foil. ( Done )

I will tri to make some modif on the lamp to give light uniformly.

Those CFLs are still WAAAY too far away my friend.

Drop them down to about 2" away from the plants (2 inches), they won't burn... it's fine... The only way to burn a plant with a CFL is to have the plants touching the bulb, which you shouldn't.

Drop those CFLs closer, but yeah you got the right idea now.... might be a little late to save those plants though... (by buring the stem and such)

Your doing better man! Keep researching, that's all I did when I started growing. I Searched through this whole site inside out so I could learn everything. Youre doing fine though, but like Supgee says, those needa be closer and you'll be good.
