Outdoor Grow Question

Hi all; I have a plant that is a good seedling size, it's scissors leaves are getting bigger by the day. I want to plant it outside and let it veg. When do you think it will be ready to harvest? Will it flower without doing anything to the lighting and stuff, just because it is an older and bigger plant? Basically, once it gets to a certain size, regardless of the lighting, will it be able to flower?

No,

the process of flowering only happens once the plant detects the daytime becoming shorter.

All that will happen is more growth.

BUT

more growth = more bud

if you can pull off an outdoor grow without getting caught.

So if it gets like as big as a tree, it still wont flower?

Look here. This bush is bigger than the house and hasn't budded yet. It's all in the lighting unless you have an auto flower.

Not until the days start getting shorter. Doesn't matter how big it gets. The neighbors could think it's a redwood, but until the days get shorter, it won't flower.

Ok thanks for clearing that up, I appreciate it. I was also wondering; will I get a better yield by trimming it every once and a while, or will I get a bigger yield by just letting it go until fall?

Different people have different opinions on that, but I generally just let the gals grow unmolested all summer. I think that leaving the plant with her full complement of fan leaves helps facilitate more efficient photosynthesis, which in turn promotes healthier growth. Which translates into more bud mass in the finished product. i know others may disagree, but that seems to work the best for me.
