Thanks in advance. Moved to outdoor 2 weeks ago. Repotted into 9 gal with Happy Frog. Alternating watering with nutes - Liquid Karma, Pro Grow.

Leaves have started to discolor and turn under. Some are folding up in the middle.
They are getting full sun
Temps are 50 night and 70 day
Watering every 4th day or so
Concerned about the color and crispy texture of leaves.

Thanks for all help.

very slight nute burn with perhaps too much water - does your container have holes? temps are also pretty borderline.

Yes, the containers have drainage holes. Could definitely be nute burn and too much water. I repotted with Happy Frog when I enlarged my containers and it could have more nutes than the Ocean Forest I was using. I noticed some leaves beginning to curl under and backed off the nute schedule and amount, but it seems to have no improvement. I would seriously doubt a deficiency of some sort so I am curious about the black pots getting too warm in the direct sunlight. I've put some wood in front of the pots to discourage direct heating from sunlight. Is it possible leaves are not soft any longer because of rapid transpiration in full sun and wind? I have a desirable location between trees that allows just the right amount of wind and nice sun, may be too much.

Also curious how garden hoses affect pH. At the house it is 6.5, but it may be altered through hose when at the site?

the hose won't effect ph. leaves get crispy with nute burn, if it were sun and wind causing loss of moisture the leaves would wilt. no worries at all about direct sunlight, especially with your temps - more light the better.

only water when the soil is dry a couple of inches down.

no matter what, don't get carried away and over-react, your plants don't look that bad. back off the nutes for a week, fix the watering if needed and see where you are two weeks from now. doing too much will kill your plants faster than not doing enough. they are weeds after all, they tend to grow if you leave them alone.

All sounds logical to me. I may put some wood under the pots to lift it off the ground and make sure it is draining.

For all those wanting to know, this was caused by a buildup of salts. I flushed the containers with water (3 x container size). In my case in 10 gal pots, 30 gals of water. Plants loved it.

That's definitely nute-burn. Too much nitrogen, you can tell by how dark green they look. Next thing will be yellow to brown leaves from nute-lock.

Word to the wise; If you are having problems like this during the veg cycle, it's going to get a lot worse when they start to flower as they become even more picky about nutrients and especially PH.

I think there's a good chance your water's PH is way high, like high 7's or maybe even into the 8's. Better get a calibratable digital PH meter and dial that water to 6.3 or you'll be sorry.

A lot of people kill their plants with high PH water, usually during flower stage when it becomes more critical.
