So after a long time daydreaming about growing my own bud again I’ve decided to plant some magic beans, this time with an indoor stealth grow after failed outdoor attempts due to aphids, humidity, and goddamn thieves!

I’ll have to lst and maybe scrog some short strains to get the results I want because my grow space is wide, but short. I’ve decided to grow in an ottoman in my private living room space that no one ever uses. The wiring goes through the bottom, under the carpet, and in thru the back of my entertainment system to the lower drawer where I’ve got a timer. I’ve slowly added on to this box in the last three weeks in preparation while I waited for my two 120mm fans to come in.

I plan on growing one of three indica>sativa strains with short genetics: Northern Light special, AK-48, and White Rhino. I’m leaning towards Northern Light special because it’s supposed to have minimal smell while retaining it’s potency since I haven’t figured out a filtration situation yet and I’d rather not get caught in the middle of my favorite growth stage.

So… here are my specs:

30”X12”X12” WxLxH
6x 6500K CFLs
4 plants to possibly clone from and later sog if I can find a space
2x 120mm Antec tri-cool exhaust fans

Personally, that looks like a fire hazard to me and I wudnt. do it but this is all about risks right. plant size shudnt be a problem as long as u veg for a short period of time (1-2 weeks) then use some simple ties to prevent plants from touching the lights. If this doesnt burn ur house down id say ur gonna have a succesful grow!

Lol thanks for the input man. What exactly do you see causing the fire hazard? I'd like to avoid this! :P I know the wires are hanging in the photo, but they're out of the way when its closed. I cannot have them out of the box unfortunately since it's stealth.

Arent you worried about heat, regardless of your exhaust? That thing looks insulated as fuck. Especially with a hot laptop on top of it? I dont know, that alone seems like it would be a problem...plus, are your fans coming out where the cussions go? If so then you need to change your shit up cause that is completely defeating the purpose when they block the airflow....

Yeah I know that would be pointless :P that's why I've got ventilation holes in everything so that's already covered. Also, there's a good bit of cushion on that thing so the laptop heat isn't transferring to the inside. Heat is not an issue.

Ah yeah, okay I get that. Well I realize I've left this part out which is a major concern, my bad.

I've got the whole thing raised up about an inch off the floor. There are plenty of ventilation holes in the sides of the bottom if you look closely. The top cushions have large wooden cavities each with negative space for handles on two sides and I've added 3/4" holes for every 2" along these sides.

I thought you were kidding.... but damn fine ingenuity. fuk it cfls arent that bad far as heat goes. I have 4 26w in a pc case and it barely ever breaks 75*.

Thanks bruh, I appreciate that. Yeah cfls are perfect for micros. With the ventilation I'm able to keep the heat right around 78*

Alright, I planted 4 seeds of northern light special a few days ago after germination. They seem to be doing well. I'll have some pics of the little bit of growth up later today

Yeah they're slowly gettin up there :) Oh and I realized last night that I still had my 2700K bulbs in from my last grow lol. Switched em up and now everything is a cool blue tint :P never had this happen so I wonder how it'll affect em. Its not like my light cycle was thrown off, but I hope it didnt confuse em into hermies!

Thanks to all :P and thanks for that confirmation! Yeah they're comin along pretty well. Once I see some worthy growth I'll be sure to post a few more pictures. Also, I just got a few emergency blankets in to replace the flat white so I plan to include that as well

Alright I'm back with a picture update. It's been a while, but I'm still going to update this thread until the harvest. Sadly I lost one of them, but the others have been doing well. I've had them on 20/4 for veg from 12-3 and started flowering 12-28. Hopefully I'll be sure what sex they are in the next week.
