Oscillating Fan idea for grow tent

So after searching for a new canopy fan, my results ended up in seeing a bunch of reviews for China fans catching on fire or coming close to it. It doesn’t seem like anyone has made a reliable oscillating clip fan, especially one that is ETL listed, so I got to thinking. After a search on Amazon I noticed these mini tower fan. Most seemed to be junk but I found a Seville 17 inch tower fan that had good reviews and started putting an idea together. After building a base mount for the fan. It worked out great. I put doubled sided tape on the bottom to secured it to the base. Viola. Height adjustable as well.

Nice!

I agree, someone needs to make a nice, affordable oscillating fan for a tent that doesn't take up much room. Good idea

Lol it’s not bad, it reaches to the far corner of the tent so it’s good for me. I won’t lie it has to be on max to get the desired effect. I just can’t leave my house with the thought of a potential fire. Doesn’t sit well with me. I have a 12 inch oscillating air king fan in the tent as well but that’s above my lights and to cool my drivers and boards

Looks great ive been trying to figure out how to do something like that. I have a small Lasko version of same vertical oscillating design.

Can you take a pic of how you made the base?

Yeah no worries, I used a 3/4” pvc conduit junction box and a metal book end from the dollar store bent into a platform. Used a 4” corner bracket underneath to tie the bookend into the junction box with simple hardware. Then used double sided tape to attach the fan to the base cause I’m not sure if I’m keeping it yet. Didn’t wanna fuck it up with screw holes...yet.
