Organizing a mach on Washington DC to Legalize Cannabis

I've been doing so research into the process of organizing a march on washington and its really not that difficult. Other than some paperwork there would be no problem. My only concern is that there would not be enough of a response to send a strong message. How many people will it take for it to make a difference?

Umm.. Is it really that easy?

No disrespect but it's a long walk from Catalina Island to Washington D.C.

I like the idea to be honest.

Maybe flash mobs smoking pot in cities all over California? Show up at say Weed California at 4:20 at the police station and light up one small bowl and then do a circle dance with a Legalize Flag then disperse kind of thing.
Media will be invited blindly.. Someone has to film it eh...

Has to make the news and the talk shows IMO.

What's the potential positive result?

Its so easy for us to get online and talk about legalizing marijuana, but it doesn't really attract any attention. A public march in our nations capital is kind of hard to miss. I think it would send a more direct message to the leaders of our country that this is an issue that matters to the people and continuing to ignore it is not an option.

No offence but...

That's the kind of publicity that will help keep it illegal by turning off those "hearts and minds" we need to win. Eventually it will be decriminalized and taxed for adults...similar to booze. "Flash mobs" and in-your-face confrontations won't help, neither will a march on D.C., imho.

In your face tactics will not help change public opinion in our favor. Flash mobs of people smoking will surely lead to some mother doing an interview with a reporter crying about how her child was exposed to cannabis smoke without her consent. And when that happens, she'll have a valid point IMO. I'd be pissed if someone exposed me to any mind altering substance without my consent, even if it was a harmless substance like cannabis.

Massive clouds of smoke in public exposing non-smokers to it is a poster for the anti-cannabis movement. If it's a designated thing like in parks @ 4:20 where everyone there knows what's going on, that's cool with me. But to just surprise random members of the public with lighting up in mass around them is a very bad idea.
