organic alcohol question

So I've been reading everywhere about this neutral grape spirit to use for winterization, and extraction.
Problem is its over $200 with shipping for a minimum of a gallon.

My question
Is anyone using the corn or cane alcohol since its a bit cheaper?
If not why ?

everclear is 35$ a liter locally for me.. so near 130 + shipping $ or so for a gallon... so that being 200$ a gallon shipped really isnt that crazy IMO. its a little pricey, but worth it in the long run. if youre dealing with gallons of organic alcohol, you arent fucking around and messing with small weights of trim and oil... youre making 250g of primo oil with that gallon... 200$ is nothing to an operation that needs that much everclear. 1L has lasted me over a month. done about 25 grams of oil so far with half a liter.

im interested to hear more on this organic alcohol though and if its really better.

Perhaps you're right. I'm not much of a drinker myself so I don't really know what's a good price for alcohol.

I'm also a bit biased as I don't really smoke extracts. I make hash using a sieve process.

sorry. came off a bit harsh. im no drinker either.. this is actually the ONLY bottle of alcohol ive ever bought, and it was for winterizing purposes only! lol.

if you take your finest hash that you speak of.. dissolve it in a bit of everclear. freeze for 2 days, pour through unbleached coffee filter, and let evap off. or cook it off.... you will be in for a nice smooth, potent, tasty treat ;)

Ya Church I wish it was that easy, but I still live in Tx at the moment. So no $200 half for me.

But I'm with Vac Purge I see it being better in the long run for any size batches. Also that is how I winterize my batches in the past, but these latest high times mags has me wanting to switch from ever clear.

That being said my question still wasn't answered

Has anybody used the cane or corn alcohol from organic alcohol.com ?

Or anybody know a coupon code lol ?

yups peoples, whats up with the organic grains. im almost out of my everclear. i dooo like the smell/taste of very minimal trace ever clear in my stuff over power 5 butane.


buttt, im due for another fill-up. who's got the goods on this info? they got corn, cane, grape .. whats good..

In both mags they use the grape neutral organic grain alcohol

Still trying to figure out the deal on the cane and corn
Although I'm sure the corn will be fine since I'm pretty sure ever clear is made from corn as well

95.6% azeotropic ethanol from either fruit or grain works fine. Fruit pectin turns into methanol, so if you are making it yourself, you need to pay closer attention to removing the fore shot and heads, but the quality should be the same from a commercial supplier.

Sorry vacpurge I tried but couldn't get the pages clear enough, and there is quite a few.

Thnx for the input fadedawg I'll probably end up using the grape when I run out of everclear

not just vacpurge interested! borrow a buddies perhaps? it be a lottaaa work. but hells, its taken us a lotttaa work to get to everclear. some pictures would make us soo happy :]

lol its not a lot of work to take pics of a mag!!! might have to stabilize your arm on something so its not blurry.. well worth it!

take a high res with a digi cam or an i phone, transfer to computer, zoom in. prnt scrn it, and post!

I considered buying those 2 mags online... but theyre kinda old, might be hard to find, and im impatient!!
