i'm using orange gels from stage lights around my "daylight" cfl's to give the recomended flowering light color ... anyone ever try this before? worth a try..:?:? i guess....

I wouldn't count on that working for me,,,if I were you
yeah what he said, filters work by absorbing all the light except the color they emit so your blocking out all that beneficial 6500 K blue. A light meter would show you the drastic reduction of the lumens. Better to get a 2700 K CFL or two in there instead.

Why wouldn't you count on it ? Just a hunch ?

Here is why it doesn't work. The bulb he is using still only puts out certain color spectrums. Adding a Gel Sheet filters out everything except the color spectrums needed for the Gel Sheet.

Therefore you are not adding anything to the final result, all you are doing is further filtering the final color you see.
