Optimum Harvest Time

Iam growing an indica strain called " Asshole " by Wild Rose Seeds and it calls for 8 weeks flowering. Well, being a rookie I forgot to record when I went to 12/12 so my question is this......is there anyother way to tell if your plants are ready to harvest OTHER than using one of those mini hand-held microscopes? Also where can you get those microscopes?
