One of my seedlings fell over (day 3)

6 are doing OK, look a bit leggy but one fell over. Day 3, running coco with just water for now, no nutes.

The LED light was about 3.5 feet above the seedlings running at 60% capacity.

I lowered the LED light to 2' above and cranked the light up to 80% capacity.

Am I correct in assuming this was likely caused by my light being too high and lowering the light? Thanks.

Can you post pics? Stretchy seedlings are going to happen with light being too far. You can always bury the stretchy stems a bit for support, just add some coco to cover part of the stem.

Yeah, that's why you should always start your seedlings in solo cups, and only fill the cup 3/4 of the way, so if they get a little lanky because they got to much water or not enough light you can fill in the rest of the cup to bury the lanky part. You can also put the seedlings stem between your index finger and your middle finger and push the medium down and it will lower the seedling a little, then just fill up the cup with a little more soil to support the lanky stem! Or, when they are that small in a bigger pot, use a spoon and dig them out carefully then replant them so the sucker leafs are just above the soil! Then fix the light issue or your watering issue!

Looks pretty dry to be in coco
What light and how high?
Be sure you don’t have a fan blowing on it so early in its life
ROI E680 LED. They were 3.5 feet above, now they are 24 inches.

Thanks guys! I have a fan blowing because I was told that it strengthens the stems. Is that wrong?

You need to feed those seedlings and get moisture into that coco or stretched seedlings won't be your only issue. I suspect you may be new to growing in coco; I'd take the time to research what's needed to be successful when using it as a medium.

@absolute moron - Fans do strengthen stems, but baby seedlings need gentle treatment. I didn't have fans blowing directly on mine until they were on their second set of fans, and even then it was soft. After they were 2-3 weeks old, then I pointed a fan directly at them, but still, only so they're moving around, not having their leaves blown around and flipped.
