Just switched ma ladies into their 12/12 last night and the heat shot up to 88 degrees. I finally got it down to 77 degrees after a few hours, but i can tell that that was too late! Leaves were saggin and the top was leaning like it couldn't hold itself up. I'm growing in a space that's 3.5 x 3.5 x 10. The only ventilation i have is a 12" occillating and a metal cyclone fan. Had to open the windows and room door to get the temp down. The only problem wit that is that i have sum nosey ass roomates that i don't need all in ma biz! Is there any, any, cheap, super cheap way for me to keep it at a even temp? Any help/ info is greatly appreciated. + repped:peace::joint::joint::joint:

well what kind of light are you using? if its a 250w+ HID light, heat will continue to be an issue, especially as it gets into those summer months. theres really no super cheap way, other than maybe getting a cheap window AC unit, using CFLs, or getting a vented hood + inline fan + ducting, to exhaust the heat outside or somewhere.
anyways, 88 isnt too bad (depending on your strain). Ive grown sativas that withstood consecutive days of 90+ temps. an easy, but very short temporary solution is to get some dry ice, or just ice from your freezer (mixed with some water), put it in a large bowl, and have your fan blow over that bowl towards your plants.

edit: cheapest option would probably be to get CFLs, or the window unit.

I'm currently using my 400w Hps. Damn, too bad! I was hoping i didn't have to plug that ac in. that thing is an "electric burner" Well, thanks for the info anyways. + rep

I got an air cooled hood for my girls. The glass really helps with the heat and I can get my light closer to my girls. I run a 600W HPS on em.
