It depends on allot of different things...

The most important thing is that your NEW growth is healthy... Green... Flat (not curled or claw leafed)...

I have read somewhere "If it is still growing it is not dead"...

They arent supposed to die. :) But there is a good chance they will. I have a friend that grows chronic and every time he clones all his leaves die. But he has about a 100% success ratio. The way I do it I usually lose about 15% of my leaves. And also 100% success. :) WM

That's good to know. I have been on the verge of fretting over some older, lower leaves that are yellowing and falling off their nodes. I'm in week 6 of veg, and the plant is generally healthy; but first the lowest set (1 point) yellowed and fell (I'm not speaking of the round cotyledon leaves), then the next (3 point), and now the leaves at the next node up are starting to lose their color. It's hardly even noticeable since the plant is full, but if it's a problem I'd want to nip it in the proverbial bud.

So, as I say, I've been slightly fretting over this. After all, I want this baby to be as healthy as possible. So, basically this isn't abnormal? Does anyone NOT lose a few lower leaves??

ps. - mine are from seed, not clones, so it's a slightly different question from smoke a lot's original posting.
