Hey Guys,
Here is my issue, with all the new cool stuff out there I am blown away...............the quality and quanity of products makes a person such as myselfs head spin. My question to any of you is that I heard a rumor that when mixxing the new nutrients that you cannot put in multiple types of food in the same mix because I was told that one will lock out the other......is this true ? for instance I wanted to mix my flora nova bloom food along with my gravity and my cal mag...........will that work ? or will that get " LOCKED OUT "
And if there is such a thing as lock out please explain to me how to avoid it............Like I said I am old school to the point of when I use to do this back in the day all we had was peters 20-20-20 and bloom food of 5-50-15 ect...............so I just need a little help doing the right thing.....

Thanks
Fly

You can mix whatever Brand you want. You just need to keep track of what you're putting in. Too much Magnesium will lockout such and such. You just need to keep your ratio's right.

FloraNova Bloom has a Great NPK ratio for bloom. It would work good as a stand alone, but adding CalMag, and a Bloom Booster of some sort hight in P and K will set it off good.

If you are using something like FloraNova you don't have to worry about lockout due to NPK ratio unless your PH is off.
If you stay on top of your PH you shouldn't have any problems with lockout.

Hope This helps ya some.
Peace.

I agree. The most common type of nutrient lock out is going to be from your Ph being out of range.
when your Ph is out of range it locks out certain nutrients from being absorbed by the roots.

Thats right do not mix different ferts undilluted including A+B canna for eg. When mixing dillute the nutes before adding more.

i know for a fact based on experience floranova bloom/grow works well with fox farms big bloom growbig and tiger bloom. Also, flora nova is a 1-part so you can use that alone or mixed

Several great companies have amazing and relatively cheap nutes that are a simple A & B formula; A for vegging and B for flowering. Don't get suckered by the hype of a company that says you *must* have all 38 of their products.

I mix my nutrients all the time.

I start out with veg nutrients through the first week of 12/12. Then 3/4 veg nutrient 1/4 bloom for one feeding, switching to 1/2 each on the next, then to 1/4 veg 3/4 bloom, and the last couple of weeks full on bloom nutrients.
