Ocean forest soil question

Hello there

Two and half old seeds potted in Ocean Forest from day one.I have been feeding 6.5 ph water only when pots are dry One seed is strawberry cough and other super lemon haze. Should I be feeding these seedlings yet. I plan on using botanicare grow for veg

You'll likely burn them to a crisp if you feed them. Ocean Forest can support a plant for several months with little to no supplements, plus seedlings are too young to worry about food. I wouldn't feed until a while after you transplant into bigger pots, and the roots pretty much fill the soil. I'm not familiar with Botanicare, but if it's anything like Grow Big, start off with half (at most) the recommended strength.

I have a plant in Ocean Forest 10 gallon pot for 3 months. I'm giving it Tiger Bloom but haven't needed to add nitrogen in a few months, and the leaves are still dark green.

Thanks Leaves just started looking pale to me. I will wait on adding any nutrients for now. I checked the roots yesterday and they’re starting to fill the pot. Do they look okay to you?

becare of new growth, newer growth is always lighter than old....so be ware......and like john said your fine for now, leave them alone for a while, when u up pot, take that ocean farm and mix it with some reg potting soil and go from there...

Check lighting as well. Plants turn pale or yellow between the veins with to much light. No need to feed til lower leaves start yellowing a bit. Small plant in big pot can be easily overwatered. Maybe cut back on that. Pot looks drenched. U dont water to runoff until roots fill the pot. Water will sit in soil and chance of root rot.

Rookie mistake to feed a young plant with discoloration, especially in ocean forest. Thats my soil of choice and although most times i amend it with other stuff ive had runs where i didn't, and have not needed veg nutes in over 10 years.

Did you take the pics immediately after watering? if not your soil is drenched.
How long are you waiting between waterings?
Did you add anything to the soil for aeration/drainage?

i must of taken the photos right after watering. No I just had seeds in a jiffy pellet and planted straight into th ocean forest soil. The has been hot here so been watering them every two days or so with very little runoff. i thought I have been careful with not overwatering. I will pay more attention to my watering and post a few photos after the weekend. I do appreciate the help thank you

They will probably be fine. Ocean forest is good stuff.

What kind of light are they getting? At this size they dont a whole lot and too much will cause harm.

Using two shop lights with 4 bulbs. not sure what kind of bulbs are in the shop lights

Get a gd light. I found a $40 board if u on a budget. U will run into even more problems when time to flower. That very well could be your issue now. Heat or light stress.
Those lights u got will take double the time to grow with less then desirable results.

no just using for veg in my garage . I do have a 1200 watt led in the grow tent that I would use when the plants got bigger and flower. in long run like to get some clones going and do perpetual grow. I have done few okay coco grows and few crappy ones. Wanted to try soil see how I can do and less watering.

i do appreciate the help I will post some photos in next few days. I did check my roots and definitely not filling the small pot yet in 3 weeks.

Best of luck! Since youre only growing 2 plants it should be sufficient. But just a word of advice on the flower light you have, if it emits red/blue/purple light, that thing is nowhere near 1000 watts. Check the output wattage for the true number, on those "1000w" blurples its usually in the 200-300 range of actual power used/emitted.

thanks for the advice. I took the soil apart and very minimal roots. I noticed the peat moss puck i planted into the soil might of stayed wet when the soil was drying up quicker. I took it the puck apart and planted it back into the soil
