Ocean Forest or ProMix...........thats the question

Ok................. I am going back to my best grows, I just need to make a decision the last piece and that is Pro Mix or Ocean Forest, I am done with Coco Coco for now, just way to fucking messy and to much fucking watering..........

I would go with promix,complete control from the beginning

I'm not the biggest fan of either.

I like "POTTERS GOLD" in my part of the country, for any base soil.....30 days of available ferts and into feeding it goes. No bugs and great pH balance - long term too!

You've done coco, so I might lean to the ProMix as thumper says...if you like that style.

I'm growing in promix organic vegetable and herb mix right now. Too soon to give a report yet. It's way cheaper than ocean forest for me plus i can buy it at the hardware store.

I use promix and have for 3 years. I like the control imho.

4 years pro mix user here . its quality and its cheaply price . tried every soil used except the homedepot black gold its brand new it looks very good we will see . any ways . pro mix xp has perlite in it you don't need to add any more just use it or add more up to you it will dry out faster with perlite .

I use Nature's Care to great effect.

looking good . smart labeling plants stay legal .

Ffof for 4 yrs now. I have no plans on changing. I don't feed until week 5 in veg.

I like the promix. Use it for both my indoor and outdoor plants. I do have my little things that I add of course.

Promix is Coco-based. FFOF is soil-based.

Been using ffof for awile, but gonna do a run of promix next rotation.

Pro_mix is peat moss
it is also an inert medium, I use inert mediums for use with bottled nutes, an I use soil for organics.

When I ran coco, I had to water it less than promix & FFOF, but it was 100% coir w/zero pearlite.

I'm in Canada and FFOF isn't available but I did use a potting soil and now use pro mix hp.
@Olive Drab Green there is a pro mix that is coco based but most, as stated, are peat based.
Anyway, I love the control with pro mix. I'm using Botanicare pure blend pro grow and bloom and I like the predictable rate it dries out so its easier to plan and track.

What do you feed in your Ocean Forest after five weeks? I see a lot of people say it needs some amendments but never see what anyone is using.

mix both together with 10% more perlite and thats a perfect mix

Ya don't need anything fer fox farms mate. The soil is on point as the kids say. But I like to mix it with worm castings and dr earths organic fertilizer with compost and perlite but thats only if i'm going for the long game. Overtime, 15th inning whatever ya want to call it. I'm talking 45 day veg here people. I'll never use anything but fox farms ocean forest.
