O2 Noise Question?

Hey all,
I currently use a commercial 550 or so gph ecoplus commercial air pump for 6 buckets to airate the DWC water. I'm going to be upgrading to 9 buckets and will need more air. I'm wondering if I should just buy another 550 gph pump and use 2 of them, or if I should buy the 1268gph model. (1780 would be overy ill even though I kinda want to buy it. Biggest size they make)
But anywho, I'm wondering if the 1268 is truly a LOT louder than if i used 2 of my current 550 models?
I also have 2 4 outlet elemental pumps you see a lot in dwc kits from ebay/amazon or aquariums, but they dont put out the kind of bubbles I like.
I'd really appreciate some insight if any of you have any personal experience with this!

Many small air pumps is the quietest you can go...Big ones are loud ,even the so called super quiet ones.
If you want stealth as it gets Hailea Aco (2 outlets )............... or Sera Air 550 (4 outlets) that is the ones I am using 4 of them
are very silent (so I have 16 outlets together)...its just the air stones rattling sometimes...but there is models as EcoPlus Water Wind Micro Bubble Air Diffuser Ring 8
which does create a insane amount of bubbles without any rattling because of the design attachment suction cups.

So YES big ones are fucking loud bastards ...and can't cover them they heat as fuck too.

Youtube pondmaster air pumps. AP series. silent and more powerful no need for the commercial heat sink ones.

Damn those look legit! Veeeeery expensive though wow. Also, they all seem to look like the other. Whats the differences in model #'s?

I have a loud pump. I hang it with a bungee cord and barely any noise now. The problem is it gets hot as shit running 24/7 though..

the AP 20 alone is for 2000 gallons.... I am replacing my ECO air 5 1300+g pump with this one (until I switch over to waterfall aeration. pondmaster pumps = more silent, more powerful, less heat, and pretty affordable... yeah man

The AP 20 is basically 27 lpm of air, or aprox 356 gph. A 1300 gph pump is more equivalent to 98 lpm. The pondmaster you would be looking for would be the AP 80-100 to match what you have now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It's early and I just got baked.

The difference in the models is how many lpm (litres per minute) they put out. Alita and Pondmaster are the best imo.

Depends what you respect...bubbles are bubbles...if you want soundless set up get many small pumps and there you have it ,no noise...

Quiet is relative aspect...I am not saying that ,that one can't be quiet but the small ones are soundless and that is the difference...depends if you live in an apartment house or private home...what's your need of the stealth level...

I'm glad I was able to help. If you are going to check out pondmaster, check out Alita pumps too. Pretty much the same price, might be able to find a better deal. The AL-80 is running $229 I see. I know how you feel about the $. I just got a blue lab guardian and was thinking, damn, that's expensive to measure ec/ph and water temp. Still got it anyway.
