HELP!!! OK SO I HAVE BEEN GROWING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW WITH MINIMAL SUCCESS AND I NEED SOME HELP, I GROW OUTDOORS IN NY STATE AND THE LAST FEW SEASONS I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT STRAINS AND SOME O.K. BUT NO WHERE NEAR THE SUCCESS I WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE , I GREW A FEW KUSH STRAINS, A FEW HEADBANDS, SOME NL , GDP, ALL HAVE BEEN POOR WITH THE OUTDOOR CONDITIONS OF NY WEATHER , AND I USUALLY GET MOLD :( I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH PESTS AND SOIL/NUTES ,MY ONLY PROBLEM IS CHOOSING WHICH STRAIN OR STRAINS ARE BEST FOR WHAT I WANT AND WHERE I WANT TO GROW , I HAVE READ AN ABUNDANCE OF FORUMS AND WHAT NOT BUT ITS TOO MUCH THIS AND THAT TOO PUT INTO ONE BIG PICTURE ON THE SELECTION OF STRAIN FOR MY SITUATION AND I COULD USE "EXPERT" HELP PLEASE ! SO HERE ARE THE DETAILS : I WILL BE IN THE GROUND, DUG OUT HOLES WITH OCEANIC TO START , OUT IN THE WOODS WHERE THE PESTS CAN GET PESKY , MY PATCH WILL GET LOTS OF SUN , I JUST NEED A STRAIN THAT WILL NEVER MOLD AND IS A GREAT HEAVY YIELD WITH POTENT FLOWERS AND EASY TO GROW ,I AM A GREAT GROWER BUT IM LOOKING FOR LOW MAINT PLANTS BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO RISK ROBBERY AGAIN BY GOING THERE OFTEN !!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT POST WHAT WEBSITES SAY ABOUT STRAINS BECAUSE I HAVE TRIED SOME STRAINS THAT SAY THEY WONT MOLD AND THEY HAVE , EVEN OUT IN THE OPEN WIND WITH LITTLE RAIN THEY HAVE MOLDED . PEOPLE WITH PERSONAL NY GROWING EXPERIENCE WITH REPEAT RESULTS WOULD HELP ME A TON , SOME PLANTS HAVE DIFFERENT PHENOS AND SOME MOLD SOME DONT , SO IF YOU GUYS COULD HELP ME FIND MY STRAIN TO START MY GROW AND NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AGAIN I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT , I HAVE BOUGHT STRAINS YEAR AFTER YEAR THAT PEOPLE SUGGESTED AND WEBSITES ADVERTISED AS GOOD YIELD/PEST RESISTANT AND IT HAS BEEN A WASTE OF MY $$$ YEAR IN AND OUT SO IM TURNING TO YOU FOR HELP .... :leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf: P.S.I WAS THINKING OF TRYING DINAFEMS BLUE HASH AND HOMEGROWN FANTASEEDS ARMAGEDDON THIS SEASON BECAUSE I READ THEY BOTH ARE WHAT IM LOOKING FOR BUT I WOULD LIKE SOME EXPERT OPINIONS BEFORE I WASTE MORE OF MY $$$ TRYING AND FAILING AGAIN :(

Hi , I live in up-state NY. I grow up here in the Adirondacks. I know what you mean about mold. The past 10yrs have been hell. Even last summer with the hot dry summer, the end of the season always seems to get cold and rainy. I have really been trying to find more wind driven areas to grow in. I have had some success with pineapple express,it didnt mold, but didnt finish fast enough either. I always grow duckfoot as it is a fast finisher. It wont grow tall but is bushey and you would have to either mainline it or top it for 4-6 tops like UB which would allow alot of air flow into the plants center. Red bud is also good, alot of guys down in the St.Lawerance river valley grow it with good results. I know its not exactly what you wanted to hear, but I think the best you can ask for is a fast finishing indica in NY. They are prone to mold issues because of there dense buds, but do finish faster. The best advise I can give you is to defoliate in 4th week of flower ( unless you grow commercially, that would be to much work),or train the plants to grow for maximum air flow. PM me if you want to talk some more,I'll try and help if I can.

you guys should check out next generation, or bc bud depot, theyre both canadian, most outdoor strains are made for short season, cool, rainy bc weather. purple pineberry, texada timewarp, or bc pinewarp is a cross of the two i believe. theyre all outdoor big guerrilla plants with short flower and high mold resistance. timewarp may be your best bet. im not just throwing strains out there, im a few hours north of the adirondacks, and they do real good here, good luck

there a few thing to do about mold. im in new england. most mold around here is in the soil and it spreads into the roots of the plants. lime lots of organic poop. kills it for a season. the other thing is you can get it up off the ground to get air flow. raised bed bucks ect. i use bails of straw. it works great. and when it gets rainy and wet i cover the bails with plastic to dry out. i find the plant will soak in more water threw the buds and youll get less root. i also spray them with ph of 8 higher whater aftewr it rains and there already wet. this kills mold spore and dont let them grow into mold.

Thanks a lot for the feedback , I was doing some research and im looking at some Iranian auto OG from the doc , also might try the autos like easy rider , auto ak , maybe MI5 and or ONYX , i really wanted to do normal strains that produce BIG but seriously speaking i have had terrible results with the weather conditions always against me and my patch isnt close enough to get to very often but i do care for my babies the best i can , im just very tired of loosing and this season i want to WIN and WIN BIG ... all info is GREATLY appreciated and welcome. Peaceanickchick Soil is not too wet , first grow i made that mistake years ago and since have well dug holes with perlite and builders sand soild mixture , drains very well .. i think the last run i just used strains that werent meant to produce , i got the BEANS free from a friend and the smoke was SUPERB AND OUTTA THIS WORLD , JUST DIDNT WEIGH UP WELL AT ALL , LIKE 1/2 OZ PER LADY ... that is sad considering the $$$ and time i had invested , this time i want the GENETICS , and The Recipe for success in my area so HOMEWORK is a MUST , ha ha

also would love to know the fastest finishing strains out right now , like late august or earlier in NY state , The thieves usually start patrolling right around then and the weather turns during September so anything that will finish fully in either august or early sept, that is a good to excellent strain and is lower maint and easy for outdoor use pest resistant and what not , those strains would help tremendously !!!

i know a couple of the purple strains from female seeds are very early finishers. if u want a giant yield, youre not gonna get it from an autoflower. frisian dew from dutch passion was about the earliest finishing but still heavy yielding strain ive had. like 2nd week of september, check out those breeders i mentioned earlier, those strains are meant for guerrilla grows, and require little attention, are mold resistant, fast finish, and heavy yielders. good luck

also, a light frost will most likely not kill your plants, you might lose some fan leaves, but most indicas and some sativa dom, will be fine through 30 degrees, or even a few degrees lower

im really stoked on the iranian auto og , people are claiming 3-4 oz returns with just 100-110 days from start to finish , deff looking into Texada Timewarp that looks amazing , maybe early skunk ... i just dont want to go ahead and put forth the $$$ and loose once again , it might make me quit all together , this is the 5th consecutive year ill be growing on a serious note and the 4 before were all failures to an extent ... but try fail and try again right lol

i dont really know alot about autos as far as growing them goes, except that a plant can only get so big in 60 or 70 days. but if youre not trying for huge yields, go for it with the autos! atleast you know theyll be done on time

I honestly wanted to give you advice but all those fucking caps gave me a headache...

Mandala #1 grows well north in east ontario, with big spear shaped purple buds very airy but not leafy.. doesn't mold as easy.
Great white shark grows huge and bushy, does well in hot dry veg and very resistant to mold in a cold damp flower..
Other populars up north in Canada around your region are M-39, Freezeland, Power Plant, the aforementioned Timewarp, Sweet Tooth, Grapefruit, Big Bud and BB x Skunk#1, Blueberry , Blue Haze (dono if its by Legends seeds but def nothing like blue dream), Blue Domino (kinda like blue haze in high but really piney in smell/taste and sticky), Blue Skunk and an early flowering kush that is like half master half pk finishes first week of october.
Auto strains that you can pre-veg indoors under 20-24 hrs of light will start flowering right when you put them outdoors as well.. That way you can get a nice dry July/Aug harvest. Some that I've seen this done wtih are Sour 60, Blue Streak, Iranian Autoflower and two af varities from a fairly unknown breeder on Hemp Depot.

I know first hand Blueberry and Blue Dom won't finish outdoors in Eastern Ontario. Not many people even know what Blue Dom is though.

The best bet for yields and early finishing is DrGreenThumbs Iranian G13. It's not cheap but nothing compares if you want to be done by early september latest.

Blue dom maybe not but ive bought tons of outdoor blue d in november in ottawa.. Blue hell yeaah bud first week of October (frost was like mid november that year tho)... But tons of people grow it its their go-to outdoor strain.. By Mr. Blue they sell em at a head shop in Ottawa.

A big outdoor strain in the Ithaca/Tompkins county area is Bubbleberry. Finishes mid to late Sept. from what I have seen. Mold/mite/pest resistant as well. Beautiful fall colors of blue/purple/red.

Also, Texada Timewarp by next generation is tried and true for short seasons.

ive grow pineapple express from g13 for 2 years. Never get mold and i am near syracuse ny. usually finishes early ocotober. This is how I do it:
pop 5 pack of g13 pineapple express and plant them in early spring as most people do when starting outdoor crops. But around mid june, I cut the 5 plants up into about 10-15 clones each. Leaving the 5 original seedlings/mothers very small, so I just let them go and don't expect much yield from them. Now here is the trick to finishing early. I keep the clones inside and under 24hrs of cfls. I keep them in party cups and I top a few times just to keep them under a foot or so. I transplant the clones to huge holes of amended soil early in july, right when the light cycle changes. This makes the small clones start flowering much faster than the 5 seedlings that were left vegging outside the whole time. Because the older ones are gradually getting use to the slow light cycle change, they slowly start flowering around the begining of august. But the clones are going from 24hrs of light to 14hrs light/10hrs dark, they start flowering mid july, and are in full flower by august. You get what I am saying homie. Regardless of strain, you can use my technique to help harvest early and avoid mold. I can usually take down an 8 week strain by october. I have tons of pictures to show everything i have mentioned if anyone is interested.
