Just got back from the hydro store. An employee steered me away from the Fox Farm Grow big and Big bloom and said that this Age Old Grow 12-6-6 and Age Old Bloom 5-10-5 is way better. I liked his idea because it was a bit cheaper. Anyone have any input on this? Theres just so much to choose from I was like a kid in a candy store!

How does dude know it's "WAY BETTER"? Does he grow personally? I'd say profit margins and commission rates come into play here.

Thats the conundrum. There are SO MANY choices for consumers these days, it's hard (impossible) for people to know whats real. There is basically no oversight in the ad industry, so most manufacturers can make all kinds of claims, not so much to outright lie to you, Well, OK, some DO outright lie to you, but companies know that the consumer will believe just about anything.

Drink Froggy Beer!! It's CLINICALLY PROVEN to burn fat, and if you ACT NOW, we'll include at no charge to a pair of our "super secret" Beer Goggles. You'll have abs and buns of steel in 2 weeks, and you'll have lots of great looking girlfriends!! All for just 3 easy payments of $99.

See what I mean?

The nute analysis looks right. Whats the source of the nutes? I was in the marketing arena for years, and I'll tell you that in an ever increasingly competitive market, it's their JOB to try and convince you that their product is better than everyone elses product. As good as alot of the claims sound, I have yet to seen anyone "re-invent" the wheel.
When your product is BASICALLY the same as every other product out there, how do you convince the public that they should buy yours? What makes your product "BETTER"?

If ya can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit!!!!

I was told botanicare gave better results then Fox Farm. I have been using botancare for 7 months now and haven't looked back! What makes you guys think FF is so much better then the rest of the stuff out there?

Well he didnt exactly "tell" me he grew. But my guess is by the smerk on his face and how big of a botanical dork he seemed to be that his weed is the shit. Haha But I thought the nute levels looked good and it a was a buck or 2 cheaper so thats what I got. I'll let you guys know how I like it.

Also firsttimegrowguy, someone (Michelin) has "reinvented" the wheel. Its actually pretty cool, check it out Reinventing The WheelVideo

Also that smerk etc doesnt prove anything..
I see guys at best buy who are total computer geeks and can
tell you all the specs blah blah but dont know shit
themselves from firsthand experience.
Another thing i mentioned was its a matter of personal preference.
Foxfarm will give you as damn good results, as will advanced.:blsmoke:

Did whoever told you that offer any credible evidence to to support his statements? I'm not knocking your choice, believe me, I'd say they'll all work.I just find it interesting how people make their consumer choices.

I'd say it's no better, no worse. But like you, given a choice of products, they went with the FF. And it worked well for them, just like you went with Botanicare, and it did the job for you. Now if someone were to grow 2 identical strains, under identical conditions and showed me a proven difference in yield consistently over time, now THAT would impress me.

Right now, to me at least, it's just a matter of some like Kelloggs, some like General Mills. Both companies say "Tests Show" thier product is tastier.

In short...........Be a smart consumer!!

Sorry Brother, Watch and listen closer. They have re-invented the tire. Although they did say wheel, it's still the tire and NOT the actual the wheel.

No breakthru wheel technology there.
