Hi Forum,

Newbie here. 1st Grow. DWC. Jungle Juice Nutes (micro) are dark red/brown. They have discolored the roots brownish red. Is this ok? How will I be able to tell later if root rot comes along. So far roots are boss other than the color. Had to cut the net pot to give the root more room. No slime either (yet..). Still wanna be sure. Thanks for any guidance on this 1st post. Any ideas to cure if its the start of root rot? I read about Heisman's tea but don't think I have access to the ingredients. Your solutions please? (reposted this from Growing Problems Forum) . roots have been this color a couple months now. Thanks

Temps of your DWC bucket should not be above 72F.... I have excellent results without moderating temps using DynaGro nute line, works great in DWC. But in most other nutes Temps area HUGE factor.

Thanks for the reply. I've been reading my way thru this 1st grow and thought I was doing ok but not at all confident. Rez avgs 64 degrees. Air temp 70-72 degrees. PH'd to 5.8, PPM around 1340. I keep watching roots close to catch slime if it comes. I'm reading a H202 soak is the fix if this happens...?

Rotten, dead roots are soft and fall apart when you lightly tug at them. Healthy roots are firm and don't fall apart with handling. Don't worry about staining if the plant seems otherwise healthy.

Thanks BJ and Jesus for your replies - I'm thinking its just discoloring, there are no foul smells and plant is thriving, but I am concerned with with glossy root ends. The roots are heavily matted together off the main boss root. Its as thick as a nice cigar. Would have to tear them to separate. Thinking of cutting off the glossy bottom ends and H202 soak just to be safe??? Whattya guys think?

Leaves went way droopy today when I checked at lights on. No bad smell but leaves very limp and some fan leaves have fallen off. Is there a chance for my mother or is she toast? I need the best solution quick? :(((( She is sick sick sick....
