I have an odd problem, my Northern lights from Nirvana have grown up to 3x the size of when I switched from Veg mode down to 12/12. They were vegging for 3 weeks up to about 10-12 inches and now they are almost 2.5-3 feet tall. Is this strain genetically predisposed to taller growth? Almost everywhere I have read is that they remain pretty compact. It is now at a point of almost touching the lights and I cant go up any higher.
I just found it odd that they grew so much in the first 2 weeks of 12/12 and they seem to continue, buds are forming everywhere so it isn't due to them remaining in veg mode. BTW they are under a 400 watt HPs.

I had the same issue w 2 plants..... they leaned from bud weight.. I put a clothes rack around the 2 pots, and tied a string around it to keep lower buds standing up as well. I'm pretty new to growing myself, but I'd say to trim off lower growth as well to improve air circulation, improve cola size, etc..(if you haven't already) It's a win/win ...from my experience
