North Korea recently tried to pay off a debt to the Czech Republic. The debt is around 10 million dollars. North Korea offered 500,000 dollars in ginseng to pay off part of the debt.

See I fing that funny like many people. But the thing that bothers me is so one is looking deeper.

The outstanding debt was for military equipment that they bought from them sometime in the cold war era.

Why would North Korea be trying to pay a debt that is 30 years overdue? It seems to me that they may be looking to borrow more military equipment? Perhaps for a war.

North Koreas outstanding debt is over 12 billion dollars. and that number was from 2001

My point was more to the point that they are trying to pay old debt to buy more military equipment.
