noob question on ventilation

i am completly new to growing and i thought that i figured out how to set up a ventilation sysytem but now i am unsure. ok i am growing in a closet in my bedroom. my light sytem has a reflector that is air cooled with 6in holes at each end. Two ways i thought i could set up a ventilation system was:

1) take some 6in ducting and connect one end of the ducting to one of the 6in holes in the air cooled reflector hood. then with the other end of the ducting put a fan in the ducting (towards the end) and i was going to connect this end to a hole in my closet wall near the ceiling. so then the fan sucks air that in my closet out through the ducting into the hole in my wall near the ceiling. i took the door off my closet and was going to put up some plastic like panda plastic and add a velcro zipper to make my own plastic door. in the plastic door i was going to cut holes near the bottom so air could get in. i also was going to have 2 reg small oscillating fans. would this work?

or

2) exact same as above only with the other 6in opening on the air cooled reflector hood connect some ducting to a hole in my plastic door near the bottom of my closet opposite side of the hole i put in the top near the ceiling . only thing i dont get with this way is-- isnt then the fan just sucking air from my bedroom through the lower hole in the plastic door, througth the ducting, pass the light system, up the ducting that the fan is connected to and out into the hole in the wall near the ceiling. how is that removing the air in the grow room? yes it will cool the light but how is this removing and replacing the air in the grow room ? is there something i dont get? remember im a noobie! and very confused!

thaanks in advance
