Node spacing too tight?

Day 30 from seed under 2 Blackstar 240 Veg models and the girls are about 6-7" tall. There are lots of nodes but they are growing right on top of each other. I raised the lights a couple weeks ago from 12" to 19" and now starting to get some better space in between. Have a few questions... 1) Is this good or bad? I know generally you don't want stretch but this seems full swing the other way. 2) Is this going to affect the my grow? Do I need to veg longer? Was planning on another week or so before flowering. 3) Should I trim the bottoms? Especially looking at Kaya Gold, it's a forest of small growth at the bottom.

More info: 3 girls in 5 gal pots, subcool and roots organic, in a 36x20x60 closet tent.

Thanks for any input! Appreciate it. Looking forward to switching over to 12/12 soon!

let them do there thing you want the nodes as close as possible before flowering because the plant can stretch up to 3 times its size when you flower depending on the strain. but its definitely not a bad thing as long as you have proper air flow

"'Sum BITCH!"

Those are beautiful plants! CAN the node spacing be too tight? i say you got some winners there. Just watch for mold/pm if they stay that dense.

as everyone has said, nothing wrong with them.

i would say there IS such a thing as 2 tight, but these are awesome.
LED's will do that with node spacing.
i have actually started to keep my LED's about 24" from the tops, to get a nice medium ground.

What issues, other than mold/mildew come with too tight spacing?

budlover13 - lol thanks and good point on the PM, will keep a close eye out later on when the tent fills up. In hindsight, maybe shoulda only done 2 plants in there. It's my first grow so we'll see how 3 do.

Vilify - I'm with you, i was thinking of raising the lights a little more myself. Next grow i'll def. start them higher to maybe avoid the early on super tight spacing i got this time. Not that anyone has said it's a bad thing yet :)

Loving the comments, makes me feel i'm on the right track for a good end result!

Switching over to 12/12 soon? Why?

Those babys are tooooooo beautiful to switch over too soon...veg 'em out, take clones, because if you don't you will always have regret.

Just my opinion.

Absolutely beautiful.

I'll second that opinion. I just finished an awesome batch of sour d and didn't take any clones. To say I regret it is a massive understatement. Lesson learned.

OK i'm going to let them Veg out to 12" or better before flowering. I'm just not sure how big they are really gonna get once they start flowering. I guess overcrowding because the plants are so big and awesome isn't all that bad of a problem to have though haha :)

As far as cloning, I'm interested in cloning Delahaze... she has a certain shimmer to her and she's smelled skunky since like day 3 which i think is cool (some may not like that attribute for stealth reasons). I also want to try my hand at cloning just because. Only problem is i have seeds of some great looking strains I want to grow out and right now I only have room for 2-3 plants so can't really clone them all and still grow some seeds. Unless I go smaller pots and don't veg them out as much next time... or find a place for another tent... not sure what I'll end up doing. It sounds soooo far away right now. Still have like 3 months to go on this batch!
