THE remains of Noah's Ark have been discovered 13,000ft up a Turkish mountain, it has been claimed.

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say they have found wooden remains on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey.
They claim carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old — around the same time the ark was said to be afloat.

Biblical tale ... Noah filled the ark with two of each animal species

Yeung Wing-Cheung, from the Noah's Ark Ministries International research team, said: "It's not 100 per cent that it is Noah's Ark, but we think it is 99.9 per cent that this is it."

He said the structure contained several compartments, some with wooden beams, that they believe were used to house animals.
The group of evangelical archaeologists ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds none have ever been found above 11,000ft in the vicinity, Yeung said.

Local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for UNESCO World Heritage status so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted.
The biblical story says that God decided to flood the Earth after seeing how corrupt it was.
He then told Noah to build an ark and fill it with two of every animal species.
After the flood waters receded, the Bible says, the ark came to rest on a mountain.
Many believe that Mount Ararat, the highest point in the region, is where the ark and her inhabitants ran aground.

Carbon dating? Is this from the same people who think Carbon dating is all guesses and that the earth is 6000 years old?

could be a hoax, who knows, but there have been many people who got pics of this thing on the mountain and Turkey wouldnt let people check it out is last i heard about it until today

but it does not mean gods comming or even exists,

humans blame natural disasters on thier bad actions. they feel guilty,

so when it rains non stop, or say somthign caused a huge flood, which they have proven a massive flood happend thousands of years ago they said it must be god,

but prolly just some lucky asshole with a real big boat was the only surviver in the region and told his amazing survival story which lives in myths until today

he prolly only had like some goats and chickens and all his animals he had to save on the boat and next thing you know the story got wild and he put two of each animal on there which we all know is impossible

where did you get this pic?

is that supposed tobe the boat they found?

The story of Noah and the great flood is part of the in Holy Bible of Christians. When I was still a kid, his story is one my favorites. The old man has been summoned by God to build an Ark wherein his family and pairs of animals of all kind that time could fit in as a preparation for 40 days of great flood in the world. For those who will not believe him, will drowned to death when the flood came. After the great flood, Noah, his family and pair of animals were the only living creatures who were able to survive the flood.
The ark that Noah has built and served as their vessel is believed to have settled on top of Mt. Ararat in Turkey. It is a snow-capped, dormant volcanic cone. It is located in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey between Do?ubayaz?t and I?d?r, near the border with Iran and Armenia, between the Aras and Murat Rivers.
“It’s not 100% that it is Noah’s Ark, but we think it is 99.9% that this is it,” Yeung Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker, told AFP.
A group of archaeologists working on Mount Ararat have discovered what they are almost certain is the remains of of the ark at an altitude of 4000m. A structure with wooden beams separated into a number of compartments has been found. Carbon dating puts its age at 4,800 years, which is consistent with the Biblical flood record. No settlement has been found above 3,500m in the area.

Weren't some mountains and valleys and hills underwater at some point on our old ass planet? As well as floods all over? Doubt it's the boat of a folktale.

A group of evangelical explorers claim they have found evidence of Noah's Ark (not pictured) on Mount Ararat in Turkey.

Noah shepherded them through the flood, two by two, and ended up in Turkey.
That's what a group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers is claiming, after having found what it says are pieces of the religious icon's famed boat on Mount Ararat.
"It's not 100% that it is Noah's Ark, but we think it is 99.9% that this is it," Yeung Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker, told AFP.
Wing-Cheung, a member of the 15-member team from Noah's Ark Ministries International, said the structure in which they got the wood had several compartments that were possibly used to store animals.
According to the Bible, Noah was tasked by God to build a giant ark after deciding to flood the world because humanity had become too corrupt.
Mount Ararat has long been believed to have been the final resting place of the ark, which according to be Bible, came to rest upon the top of a mountain.
Carbon dating shows that the wood the group recovered was 4,800 years old, which would put it around the time of the ark, the team claimed.

Naational geographic did a special on this not too long ago. I was high as a kite when I saw it but something about the midterranean sea had a natural levy or something gave and flooded something like what would now be three uropen country. They carbon dated some silt or something. I don't remember the details.
