no visible roots on my clones. was it too soon?

I've had these clones rooting for almost 3 weeks now. yesterday i decided to crack open the rockwool on one of them to see if i could see some roots, (i know im not suppose to do this). there were definitely roots inside the rockwool. so i put them in my DWC, with the water level a little low, so there is sort of a fine mist from the airstones.

My question is will these clones survive? if i was using smaller (1") rockwool cubes, the roots would have been out of it by now.

thanks for the help..

Did you break open all the cubes? In the future go w/ the 1.5 in. for sure. If you did not destroy any of the roots (which I find highly unlikely) they will survive. If you damaged the roots (most likely) all you can do is pray. Best of luck to you man : ]

Dont keep those RW cubes wet, they need to be barely moist. if they are wet all the time then the plants will develop root rot and die. Your clones will be just fine, let them grow, start adding low amounts of fertilizer.

I only broke the rockwool cubes on 2. one healthy and one that didnt look so good.

should i take them out of the DWC and put them back in the clone trays? do you think that the mist from my dwc is getting them too wet??

I turned off the pump to the airstones. they should stay pretty dry now i would think. I'll turn them on once a day to water the rockwool, untill i see roots, then i'll leave them on 24/7. the ppm's are around 500, and the ph is at 5.8

Should i add hydrogen peroxide to help protect against rot?

make sure u change ur water, turning off ur stones is the worst thing u could have done, the water now is stagnating and algae is eating whatever nutes u had in it. U would have been fine if u would have stuck to the very first thing u did, yes placing the ur clones was a lil premature, but with the level kept low like u did ur clone root formation would have been forced to grow down into ur water and food supply. Clone are like seedlings in this sense.

The best thing u could do at this point is put everything back the way it was, but start over with the water immediately! have patience. everyones first instinct is thinking, wishing and hoping there clones are going to just grow up and start vegging rediculously.
Give them time liike u gave there moms, i assure u in a week or so u will have regular root formation growing in and eating ur nuts! hope that helps. Keep ur water level a half inch from the bottom of ur pot, ur stones are going to make the bubbles that will splash plenty enuff water and nutes up into ur hydroton. U may still have time to fix it but act immediatley.

If you're growing DWC, the solution should be about 1/4 inch from the bottom of your net pots. The breaking bubbles on the surface of the solution will keep the RW wet enough. Also, I agree with the above poster ... don't turn the airstones off.

right on. thanks for the help. i changed the water, got a ppm of 479 and a ph of 5.7. I cut the nutes in half of what is recommended (600ppm) im using sensigrow a and b by the way.
