A few weeks ago a friend and I were late to an event. He was driving and I was taking calls from people wondering where we are. Along the way we pass a few Starbucks. My friends then tells me that if we pass another one he would have to go in and get a coffee because he didnt have his daily cup this morning. So of course we pass another, which triggers him to make a U-turn, pull in and wait in line whie we are running late. At that point it is obvious to see that he is dependent on caffeine. He could not go a whole day without a full cup of coffee. Now I will never be the one to deny a grow adult of that right ,but the situation would be completely different if I stopped the car to take a bowl hit or too. America is blinded by this conditioned taboo.
Caffeine is almost twice as addictive as marijuana and the body is more tolerable to THC than it is to caffeine. People pay ridiculous prices everyday for their morning fix. It is obvious that Starbucks have added there own tax on their product and they are pocketing all the money. I am sure they are fully aware of the addictive properties of there product, just like major alcohol companies. But I have to hide behind bushes and walls when I buy a simple gram of marijuana, but I can get a mocha grande at several locations within a square mile.
Im not a big coffee drinker but I see nothing wrong with it and I see nothing wrong with enjoying a couple drinks now and then. There is nothing wrong with an adult treating him or herself with any substance that doesnt automatically make them a slave to to it like crack or heroin. So when there comes a day when I pull up to a spot and order to grams of their best as Im running late. I should see no frowns because no one is frowning at Starbucks.
