hi there folks,

im in my second week of flowering havent used any nutes at all, just water, water nd more water :P
plants female and starting sprout flowers all over the place and in my un-professional opinion looks and smells ace.

basically do i need nutes?? lol the only reason i havent botherd tbh is cost/lack of knowledge.
if nutes arent essential (wich im pretty sure they should be) is there anything cheap i could use to get the best from her??

also theres a slight purpling on the branches nothing major but ive beed advised this is my plant telling me its hungry?? lol

any help/ideas be appreciated

cheeers

I would think you would. If you are not familiar with fertilizing just just get a balanced water soluable fert (like 10-10-10) and give the first dose at 1/2 label recommendations.

nice one dude , ive been looking at formulex as a cheap option, wouldnt expect owt amazing from it more just so it doesnt suffer from having nothing.
seems to be just a basic all round nutrition and only £8/litre,just dont know if it would do job or not lol
first grow and bit dumb with the whole nutes/ph business :P

I don't know, they don't even tell you what the hell is in it on their website, I'd be suspicious. Can't you get a general water soluble fertilizer for home gardening pretty cheap? Maybe they label fertilizer different where you are but I'd be looking for something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Miracle-Gro-Purpose-Soluble-Plant-Food/dp/B000TAP7PY/ref=sr_1_1?s=outdoors&ie=UTF8&qid=1388440038&sr=1-1&keywords=fertiliser

Shit how does anyone tell what's in a fert in the UK, they don't even list the NPK values anywhere I can see.

yeah thats the problem im having tbh mate , i dont really know what the whole 20/20/20 stuff is but its easy enough to do the google and see what i want for what stage.
but then finding that on a bottle of a nutrients that isnt directly marketed for it and a tad exspensive is a differant story lol

thanks 4 having a look , ill probs go with the miracle grow as a safe bet :)

some one said tomato food as there similar plants would be good during flowering but people talk that much shit these days i dont know what to believe lol

pretty sure you could just walk in to a hydroponics shop in the UK assuming as you used the £ and pick up exactly what you need for not that much or they will give you advice on what you need, from my experience they are pretty helpfull in them shops :)

MG tomato food would be great, here it is under a US label, note the analysis is 18-18-21. That's 18% nitrogen, 18% phosphorus, 21% potassium

http://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Gro-2000421-Tomato-Plant-Food/dp/B000P7345G/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1388441387&sr=1-1&keywords=miracle+gro+tomato+food

That's what I meant by a balanced fertilizer, all numbers about equal

Purpling on stems was my problem too. I thought genetics until plants were wilting turns out High Ph so I corrected and WA la no more purpling. Just something to look into before it effects ur plants negatively.

ill look into it m8 , it doesnt seem to be causing issue at the minute mainly on the branches for the big fan leaves.
how would i go about lowering my p/h ?? bearing in mind ill be adding around 1/4 strength tomato food in next couple days lol
