day 6

my question to everyone, after 6 days from sprout, do my plants look as tall as they should for being 6 days old? i ask because my hashplant is about 3 weeks old and it(to me anyway) still looks really short. ive been looking at some other hashplants and they tend to have very strong sativa traits(grow tall, thin leaves) where as my plant is short and bushy. i might have overdid it with the nutes when i started it so im not sure. i havent fed it anything in 2 weeks.

looks like slight nutrient burn, dont fert for at least 2 wks, then at 1/4 strength, just run fresh water to it for a few days, it should straighten out. they look real good, just water when the top is dry and learn to water by lifting the pot to feel weight when watered then without water, then u know when to water. i would move the older plant to a larger pot, 2 gal. at least, plants look real good man!!!

here is the thing with that plant. its about a month old. when i first planted the seed, i followed the directions on the fox farms feeding schedule and gave it the full dossage(2Tbl>gallon). so it was groing but growing very slowly. as i was reading the forums i found out that the FFOF soil has enough nutes and that i should only do 1/4 strength at 3 or 4 weeks. i figured i might have overnuted it. so i flushed the plant and havent given it nutes in a month. so maybe the issue might be it might need the nutes? i was looking online for similar plants and read it might be a lack of nitrogen.

The hashplant looks overwatered. When I killed my first batch, they all looked like your hashplant and it was overwatering. Try watering less and putting the water directly around the stem, not the outside of the container. Also water as little as you can, I can actually judge when my plants need water by them slowing down in growth and drooping like yours. Good luck

thanks for the tip that might be it. the ice/ak were planted using 100% FFOF, while the hashplant was done using 50%OF/40% Cannacoco/10% perlite. the hashplant really looks like it holds water much better then the party cups.

I have a strong feeling thats it as well. Don't nute the hashplant because I feel it will complicate things more. I struggled with overwatering for I think 5 months when I thought it was mag def etc Start letting your plants dry out completely and they will start to grow a lot faster. Plants growing properly reach towards the light and when they are overwatered/underwatered they droop. When you water, water a minimal amount just around the stem and try to water them only when they droop. I have included pics of a steady growing plant and one of my old ones suffering from overwatering. The overwatering plant 3 days later looked identical to your hashplant, the pic just shows the beginning of the coloration and droopiness. Note* Only reason perky plant has yellow bottom leaves is because I made mistake of planting outside and it rained 4 days straight, causing yellowness =[ I brought him back inside and in 2 days of being in a completely dry pot hes grown soooo much its insane. Also party cups Ive found make overwatering too easy due to small size and tall height/ small width =/

heres a question then, the soil in the hashplant is SUPER airy. the top inch of soil is dry but below that its still wet as hell. is there anyway to dry it out or should i just leave it alone? i last watered it 4 days ago. it just seems like it takes forever to dry out for some reason.

Let it be and that means that every watering you are giving them too much water.Judging by your party cups, all the soil seem saturated which is bad. Trust me, marijuana plants dont need much water till they are much larger. What you described is like what I dealt with. My top soil would be dry but the bottom would be damp and still heavy with a lot of moisture. Just let it dry out completely and watch the difference. As with the other plants besides the hash, they seem to be doing pretty well. Just like I said, keep watering to a minimum and water directly around the stem. I'd honestly give my plants the ones your size in day 12 about 2 tablespoons of water at 6.5ph every 4 days and thats all they needed. Let the party cups dry up as well and I bet they start to grow even faster. Good luck =D

Also if possible, transplant out of the party cups if you could to say pots about the size of mine in pic 1 of the perky guy. Plants get rootbound in party cups within 2 weeks =[

thanks for that, one other questions. it turns out the hashplant is rootbound. i started the hashplant 2 weeks before the ice+ak48. my goal is to allow the ak48+ice to "catch up" in height before transplanting into bigger containers. is this possible?

Ya rootbounding can cause yellowing bottom leaves from my experience as well. Transplant the hash into a good sized cup and it will take off in about 2 days. As for catching up, ya you can let the others catch up with the hashplant except it depends on phenotypes remember. Some plants will end up lanky while others will be bushier. Think of them as a group of 6th graders lol Even though all will generally be about the same height, you'll always end up with some chubby ones here and there along with the tall skinny ones =D Just try to not have the ice+ak's in party cups more than 3 weeks or they wont be partying Ill tell you that haha Just like the hashy theyll be rootbound =O It's amazing the root structure mary jane develops so young Good luck ^_^
