where i usually shop they only have that in 1000 . can i use a mh with my balast or do you need special balasts for mh i think this is the balast i have http://www.greenelectricalsupply.com/400-watt-quad-tap-s51-hps-ballast-kit.aspx but has another cylinder shaped transformer on it one thing i was reading about mh has less lumen but more kevin which i also read that kelvin has a role in different stages of growth

the CERAMIC metal halide fits in the magnetic hps style ballast!! The highest rated watts is 400 that i know of. Its kinda the best of both worlds because its like an hps combine with mh. understand that this IS NOT a normal metal halide !!!

i had my hopes up i even dreamt about the ceramic light but when i got there they said they never received them so for now i took into consideration your 2nd option the eye hortilux 400 hps
mostly for flowering the guy told me just hooked it up and waiting for it to turn on i will post some pics from today and then in a couple of days to see if there a noticeable difference from my old sylvania 400

yeah what uni said i run both hps and cmh side by side but 1 note they were never marketed as grow lights so might not find them in the ur hydro store. they do as of now only come in 250 and 400 watt. u can use them the whole grow, i havent done a side by side but from what i have been told and read up on them is not to be fooled buy the lower lm output as they r to more than make up for that by the amount of usalbe light they emit

when i looked online at the articles it was clearly marked there but when i got to the store as if they didn t know what they were lol they did but i guess they wouldn't sell much of the other mh bulbs if they had them there
